On February 13, 2017, 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German were murdered while exploring Monon High Bridge over Deer Creek in Delphi, Indiana. Daren Christopher Abbey has been arrested and charged with the murder of Dustin Kjersem. Police have still not pieced together the motive for the vicious attack, but they say Daren has confessed to the crime. They were able to link Daren to DNA left at the crime scene.

Last week on Crime Weekly News we talked about Bianca's Law, a law passed in New York that criminalizes the posting of photographs of victims of a crime on the internet. Bianca Devins was only 17 when she was murdered by a man she met on Instagram who took photos of the scene and spread them online - photos that are still used to harass her friends and family to this day.
This week, we are honored to sit down and speak with Kim Devins, Bianca's mother, about her efforts towards making this a federal law, as well as giving consumers the power to hold social media sites more accountable.

While Marlene was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, a massive manhunt for the clown began. On July 14th, 2019, 17 year old Bianca Devins was murdered by 21 year old Brandon Andrew Clark, a man she had met on Instagram and was in some kind of relationship with. After committing the murder, Clark posted a photo of Bianca?s body on social media before slitting his own throat, and posting a picture of that as well. Clark then posted a photo of himself laying over Bianca?s lifeless body. Clark was rushed to the hospital and was later charged with Bianca?s murder, but the photos of her still circulate on the internet, and still haunt her family and friends.

A family in North Carolina is left devastated when masked men entered their home in the middle of the night and assaulted them, stealing items and a car from the home. The intruders inflicted torture on the family, including the children, and asked for guns as well as money. On the late afternoon of December 3, 1998, Mark Jensen called 911 from his Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin home to report that his wife, 40-year-old Julie Jensen, was found dead in bed. When the police arrived, Mark suggested Julie might have died from an allergic reaction to new medication, he said she had been sick for a few days before her death. However, as the police looked around, they grew suspicious about the circumstances surrounding Julie?s death. They called in the medical examiner?s office and the district attorney?s office, both of which agreed that something was off. An investigation was opened, and it was soon discovered that for weeks before her death, Julie was deeply concerned that Mark, her husband of 14 years, was going to murder her.

Susan Smith made headlines in 1994 when she strapped her two young children, Michael and Alexander, into their car seats and drove her car into a lake, letting it submerge and drown them both. She was convicted of both their murders and given life in prison with the possibility of parole in 30 years. This November, she will finally be eligible for that parole, but many people do not want her ever released.

Rex Heuermann is also in the news as he stands trial for the infamous Gilgo Beach murders. He faces even more charges as DNA from strands of hair connect him to more deaths, and his killings may even stretch over state lines.
