S3 Ep198: Leah Roberts: Desolation Peak (Part 2)

Leah Roberts was five foot, three inches with short dark hair and a beauty mark above the right side of her lips. Leah?s life took a pretty standard path, starting with a happy childhood in Durham, North Carolina where she lived with her parents and two older siblings, sister Kara and brother Heath, until she began attending college at North Carolina State University in nearby Raleigh. Because of unexpected events and tragedies, Leah would change direction in her early 20?s and begin a journey of self exploration that would take her on an impromptu road trip. On March 9th, 2000, Leah Roberts left her Durham, North Carolina and began driving West. Nine days later, her white Jeep Cherokee was found wrecked and abandoned at the base of the Cascade Mountains, 80 miles north of Seattle, Washington. Leah was not inside the Jeep, and to this day she still has not been found, but a later examination of the vehicle would show the engine had been tampered with and maybe someone had targeted Leah Roberts as she was out in the world, trying to find herself.

S3 Ep195: Crime Weekly News: Man Caught With Human Leg & Officer Jonathan Diller Remembered

Police in Kern County, California arrested 28-year-old Rosendo Tellez on March 22, 2024 after they were called to the Amtrak station in Wasco after a person had been hit by a northbound train. Tellez reportedly was hiding one of the severed legs of the victim under his sweater.

We also want to remember NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, 31, who was tragically shot and killed while confronting repeat offender, Guy Rivera, 34. Rivera was a passenger in a vehicle when he was approached by Officer Diller and an argument ensued. Rivera would then shoot Officer Diller in the stomach under his bulletproof vest, killing him. Rivera already had 21 separate arrests according to authorities, 9 of them being felonies.

S3 Ep192: Piketon Massacre: And Then There Was One (Part 5)

Piketon is a small town in Southern Ohio, 90 miles east of Cincinnati with a population of just over 2000 people. It?s a salt-of-the-earth type of place, nestled in the heart of Appalachia, where many families can trace their lineage back generations. Everyone knows everyone, no one is a stranger, and when someone is in need all they have to do is turn to their neighbor. Bad things happen everywhere, even in small, tight-knit towns, but in April of 2016 something happened that no one had ever seen before, and it shook them to their core. Eight members of one family, in four separate locations, all murdered execution-style at the same time; it was a crime that most people only experience through movies, but the members of this quiet, hardworking town would soon find themselves thrust into the national spotlight, unwillingly living through a real life murder mystery and mourning a family who had been a fixture in the community.

S3 Ep176: Dan Markel: The Bump (Part 5)

In July of 2014, Florida State University professor Dan Markel dropped his two young sons off to preschool and made a quick stop at the gym before heading to his home in Tallahassee, Florida. Within minutes of arriving home, Dan Markel was shot execution style in his garage. In the aftermath, a lengthy investigation would follow that would include financial and phone records, surveillance cameras, wiretaps and a FBI sting operation, and what this investigation would uncover would shock everyone. In the case there have already been three criminal trials, four murder convictions and a fifth arrest, but new details and allegations are emerging every day, suggesting that there may still be more that we do not know about the shocking and tragic murder of 41-year-old Dan Markel.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was convicted of planning her mother's murder alongside Nicholas Godejohn in 2015, but what made the story so shocking was that Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen by proxy, and the abuse from her mother culminated in the murder plot that shocked the nation. Though Godejohn is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the physical act of killing Gypsy's mother, Gypsy herself was released from prison on December 28, 2023, and is now taking social media by storm.

S3 Ep166: Lindsay Clancy: Suspicious Searches (Part 2)

Those who knew the Clancy family of Duxbury, Massachusetts would describe them as happy, loving, and completely normal. Lindsay Clancy was a labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her husband Patrick worked as a consultant for a technology company, and by 2023, the couple had been married for six years and they had welcomed three beautiful children into their family: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan. Neighbors recalled that Patrick was a very loving father. They would always see him in the backyard playing with his kids. Lindsay and Patrick never fought. They said "I love you" to each other ten times a day, and above all, they both worked hard to provide and care for their family. So when Lindsay was charged with the murders of her three small children, the shock and disbelief was palpable, and no one could wrap their heads around how something this unfathomable could happen to a family who seemed to love and value each other so much.

S3 Ep162: Maya Kowalski: The Court Rules in Favor Of....(Part 3)

Maya Kowalski was ten years old when her father brought her to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in October of 2016. The previous year, Maya had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome which caused her excruciating pain. Consistent therapy and ketamine treatments had gotten Maya?s condition under control, but she would have flare ups from time to time, and one of these flare ups brought her to the emergency room at All Children's Hospital, complaining of pain in her stomach. Maya would remain at the hospital for the next several months, against the wishes of herself and her parents, lawyers would later say. Her mother Beata Kowalski was accused of neglect and medical abuse, and by the time Maya was finally allowed to go home, her mother was dead, having taken her own life after being forbidden from seeing her sick daughter for 87 days. Maya?s family would go on to sue Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, claiming it?s actions led to Beata Kowalski taking her own life, devastated that she could not see her daughter and that she was being accused of abusing Maya. The Kowalski family also alleged that Maya was medically kidnapped, battered and abused while in the hospital?s care. This lawsuit would bring to the light deeper issues at Johns Hopkins, issues that affected far more than the Kowalski family and lead many of us to ask the question; if you can?t trust those who take an oath to do no harm, who can you trust?

S3 Ep156: Crystal Rogers: A Family Affair? (Part 2)

On July 3rd, 2015, 35 year-old mother of five Crystal Rogers disappeared from her hometown of Bardstown, Kentucky. At the time of her disappearance, Crystal was living with her children and her boyfriend, local businessman Brooks Houck, who also happens to be the last person who saw her before she vanished, never to be seen again. On July 5th, Crystal?s maroon 2007 Chevy Impala was found abandoned at mile marker 14 on the Bluegrass Parkway. The keys were in the ignition, Crystal?s cell phone and purse were still in the car, and there did not appear to be any signs of a struggle, but no one who knew Crystal could understand why she would just get out of her car instead of using her phone to call for help, and the situation became more suspicious when Crystal?s family discovered that even though her boyfriend Brooks had not heard from her over night, he had not called to report Crystal missing, and he didn?t seem concerned about her whereabouts at all. What would follow was an investigation that uncovered some shady activities hiding beneath the idyllic small town appeal of Bardstown, Kentucky, and two more deaths that had many people wondering if it was all connected back to Crystal Rogers.

S3 Ep152: Arne Johnson: Demonic Defense (Part 2)

In the darkest corners of the human psyche, evil can take root. It can lurk, hidden, waiting until it compels you to commit unspeakable acts. 'The Devil Made Me Do It' is a sinister tale of possession, exorcism, and a chilling courtroom battle. Join us as we delve into the abyss of the supernatural, where demons walk among us, and innocence is just a facade. Prepare yourself for a journey into the heart of darkness, if you dare...

In 1981, 19-year-old Arne Cheyenne Johnson pleaded not guilty to the gruesome murder of his landlord and friend, 40 year old Alan Bono. Initially, the Brookfield Connecticut Police claimed the motive for this murder appeared to be connected to a jealous love triangle, but within days, a bizarre story began to emerge, told mostly by Ed and Lorraine Warren, self-professed demonologists. The Warren?s professed their belief that Arne had been possessed by an evil entity when he had stabbed Bono more than 20 times.

S3 Ep149: Crime Weekly News: Charlotte Sena Suspect Connected to More Cases?

On Saturday, September 30th, 2023, 9-year-old Charlotte Sena was camping with her family at Moreau Lake State Park near Albany NY when she went for a bike ride with some close friends around dinnertime. She was riding her bike in one of the loops in the state park, and she had done a few loops with her friends and wanted to do one more before heading back to the campsite, so her friends went on without her, reporting they last saw her at 6:15 PM. When she was not back within ten minutes, her family went looking for her, and she was reported missing at 6:45pm. 46-year-old Craig Ross Jr. was taken into custody after Charlotte was found in a cabinet inside a trailer behind his mothers home near the intersection of Middle Line Rd and Barrett St in Milton, NY. Just a few days ago it was reported that Craig Ross Jr. is being looked at in connection to two cold case murders nearby.
