We?ll host honest conversations on faith, motherhood, homemaking, and everything in between. My prayer is that you leave encouraged in Christ, equipped to carry the weight of motherhood with joy, and reminded of the truth that God has given you everything you need to steward your arrows well.

There is so much joy here. Let?s experience it together.

Your Ministry Is Where Your Feet Are: 4 Simple Truths For The Homemaker

With the rise of the ?homemaker revolution? on social media and the homemaking aesthetic of pretty dresses, beautiful kitchens, and freshly baked sourdough comes *lots* of different feelings - am I right? While it?s a beautiful thing to be inspired by so many amazing women who do a wonderful job of sharing their homemaking, it can also leave you wondering, am I doing this right? Am I really a homemaker if my reality doesn?t look like that.

Here?s the thing - I love the homemaker aesthetic. I think wearing dresses makes me more productive. I have tried and failed TWICE now to learn the art of sourdough (I?ll get it eventually!). I love that homemaking is making a comeback! But the truth is: the heart of homemaking is so much more than all of those things.

As I?ve fought comparison in my own homemaking journey, God has been so faithful to renew my mind and remind me of the true heart of homemaking. So in this episode, I?m sharing with you 4 simple truths about homemaking that God has been reminding me of in this season that I hope will encourage you in your own homemaking ? whatever that may look like.

Mothering With An Eternal Perspective

Let?s just be real, nobody likes every single part of it. Today we?re answering the question, ?how do i remain joyful even in the parts of motherhood i probably wont ever look back on and miss?? So let's dive in!

Jesus Is With You In The Mundane

How can we see God even in the messy mundane moments of motherhood? The answer might be more simple than you think. See, it?s easy to feel far from God in this season of life ? you?re busy, you?re tired, you hardly have a moment to yourself these days. But God?s Word promises us that if we seek Him, we will find Him. The more we look for Him, the more we?ll begin to see evidence of His goodness all over our lives. Yes, even in the chaos and the mess.

If you?re tired today, this one?s for you. I got to sit down with the incredible Jess Connolly and have an honest and real conversation surrounding her new book, Tired of Being Tired.

Where Is God When I Feel Weak? with Emily Jensen

In our weakness, He is strong. A simple truth so easily forgotten, which is why I am honored to be bringing Emily Jensen on today to discuss weakness and what to do when we feel weak. While no one ever wants to feel weak, the reality is we all face these feelings at some point, so it?s important to know what to do when we come face to face with our weakness and, more importantly, what God says about it.

Emily Jensen is the cohost of Risen Motherhood podcast, co-author of the book Risen Motherhood, and most recently, author of He Is Strong - Devotions For When You Feel Weak.

Emily shares hope, encouragement, and personal stories on weakness and I pray you leave feeling uplifted and reminded that your weakness doesn?t count you out, but gives you an opportunity to lean into the strength you have in Christ.

How To Intentionally Approach Discipleship With Your Kids This Year

When it comes to our kids, discipleship often feels like this big, intimidating thing that we know we need to do but we?re not quite sure how to do. Right?

Here?s the good news, friend: discipleship is actually quite simple, and it?s not something we need to stress about or feel pressure about.

It?s less about the big, planned moments and more about you as a parent making the conscious decision to center your life around Christ. When you make Christ the center of your home, discipleship is inevitable. As the apostle Paul said, follow me as I follow Christ.

So today we?re going to discuss what discipleship is, why we should care about it, and we?ll talk about two different types of discipleship and how to be sure they are both happening in your children?s lives. So lean in and let?s get into another episode of The Joy Filled Podcast.

?These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.??Deuteronomy 6:6-9 CSB

Feeling Overwhelmed in Motherhood? This Might Help.

Overwhelm is something we all face, but it?s not something we need to try to avoid or outrun. You will experience overwhelm in life, that?s a guarantee, but overwhelm is a feeling to acknowledge, not a place to camp out and take on as an identity. So instead of trying to figure out how to avoid it, in this episode we?re going to talk about how to move through it, lean into it and give it the attention it deserves, and continue on forward because just like every other feeling we experience, overwhelm is simply a messenger alerting us that some things aren?t quite right.

The Basics of Prayer: Breaking Down the How, Why, and What of Prayer So You Can Transform Your Prayer Life

We?re all trying our best to handle it all, whatever ?it? is for you. Motherhood, family, work life. Balancing home and kids and social activities and all the things. It can feel sort of impossible to handle it all, right? Friend, I?ve got good news - you and I were never created to handle it all on our own. We were created to be in community with the Lord, walking with him, working with him, and inviting him into every portion of our lives as we cast our cares on Him.

One of the best ways to truly ?cast our cares? is through prayer. So often I hear of women who are afraid to pray or simply don?t know how to pray, so today we are talking all things prayer in hopes that you leave with a clear understanding of what prayer is and how we can apply it to our lives. We?ll talk through things like the basics of prayer, the different kinds of prayer, when and how to pray, and writing out your prayers.

Friendship is TOUGH! There, I said it. Today on the podcast, Elizabeth Laing Thompson is joining us to talk through all the questions we?ve all been asking about friendship - how to make new friends, how to nurture lifelong friendships, and what to do when friendships fall apart.

In Elizabeth?s brand new book When a Friendship Falls Apart, she comes alongside readers as they process their struggling friendships?the faltering, the fractured, and the failed. Blending personal story, biblical examples, and faith-filled wisdom, each page explores questions like the following:

How do we guard against the poison of bitterness so we can process the hurt and move forward? When and how do we seek reconciliation? What does forgiveness look like? How do we know when it?s time to leave a friendship behind? How do we open up again and entrust our wounded hearts to new friendships?

If you find yourself in the midst of a friendship that?s falling apart, or you?re grappling with past hurts and regrets, I hope you enjoy this podcast episode and I encourage you to grab a copy of Elizabeth?s new book, When a Friendship Falls Apart.

Launch Your Own Podcast with Clarity and Confidence with Stefanie Gass

Three years ago this month I launched The Joy Filled Podcast after spending just a few short months researching and learning about how in the world I'd actually launch a podcast. In that research, I stumbled upon a podcast by my now mentor and friend, Stefanie Gass, who taught me so much of what I know about podcasting today.

Stefanie Gass is a Christian business and podcast coach, boundary boss, boy mom, and multi-six-figure CEO. She helps women grow their online businesses and make money online, using podcasting. She is the host of a top 25 globally ranked business podcast, Online Business for Christian Women. She believes it's possible to partner with God to create income and impact without sacrificing your family, faith, or buying into social media hustle.

Stefanie truly has a gift in helping women get clear on their callings and launch successful podcasts, and myself and this podcast is a reflection of that gift. If you?ve ever wondered or asked me about podcasting and how I got started, I?ve probably sent you in Stef?s direction. It is truly full circle to have her here on Joy Filled today and I am so honored to get to introduce you to her. I hope you enjoy this episode of The Joy Filled Podcast with my very own mentor, Stefanie Gass.

Struggling to Feel Motivated to Show Up For Your Life? This One?s For You.

I?m sure you?ve been there. You want to show up and be who you?re made to be, step into your purpose, do the things you?re called to do (or even just the things you?re *supposed* to do), but you just can?t find it in you to actually *do* the things. I know I can?t be the only one who has gone through seasons where it?s hard to find motivation to even get a meal on the table, let alone all the other stuff. Wondering, how do I do it? How do I show up for all the things that need to be done, all the people that need me, all the tasks I?m supposed to do, even when I don?t feel like it? And with a culture SO focused on following our feelings, it?s no surprise we?re all asking the same question.

So how do we show up even when we don?t feel like it? Today, we?re answering that question because trust me, I am no stranger to this struggle and, lucky for you, I?ve learned a thing or two along the way.

Nutrition Can Be Simple, Even as a Busy Mom with Kirsti Troyer

One of the things that has been absolutely pivotal for me in motherhood is understanding and prioritizing nutrition and the role proper nutrition plays in my hormones, energy, mood, mental clarity, and so many other things. For a long time I was the mom surviving on 3-4 cups of coffee and maybe one real meal a day, and I was also exhausted, overwhelmed, and worn out most days. I thought that was normal. I thought that's just how it was for moms. But over the past year or so I've learned a lot about nutrition and one of the most encouraging things for me was realizing how simple it actually is to nourish my body and give it what it needs to thrive. I know this isn?t a health podcast, but I believe that health and leading a joy filled life go hand in hand, which is why I invited my friend Kirsti Troyer.

Kirsti Troyer is a registered dietitian of 8 years who started studying the connection between nutrition and hormones due to her own period problems. She now helps women support their hormones naturally with food. Specifically focusing on improving energy, metabolism and eating in sync with your menstrual cycle. She has a goal of simplifying nutrition and decreasing the overwhelm so you can nourish your body well. Kirsti lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband & daughter. You can easily find her on Instagram @nutrition.withkirsti.

With the rise of the homemaker "aesthetic" of pretty dresses, beautiful kitchens, and freshly baked sourdough on social media comes *lots* of different feelings - am I right?
