Secrets to saving big on Prime Day

At the top of the show this week Rick has a big announcement: You can sign up for CNET deal alerts. Rick will be sending one great deal each day directly to your phone. You can sign up for texts online or by sending a text to 415-878-5803. We also called back to a topic we discussed on last week's show. Rick formally apologized to Dave for being wrong about Microsoft 365, the annual subscription plan for Office. It turns out that getting a full terabyte of cloud storage space for $70 per year (or 5 TB for $100) is actually a pretty amazing deal. Listen to last week's show for more details. In the main segment, we talked about how to save money and make the most of Prime Day, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks on Oct. 13. In fact, the first early bird Prime Day deals are already here. You can read about 5 ways to save on Prime Day, and be sure to check out the tools and browser extensions Dave talked about. Lastly, you can sign up for a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial if you've never had a Prime subscription before, or you can subscribe just for a month or two to get you through Prime Day and Black Friday. Finally, in our listener mail segment, Gregg Nicholas told us, "No way that I will ever sign up for Facebook, so I'm not getting an Oculus Quest 2." Strong words, so we discussed the fact that Facebook is now a required part of using the Quest 2 headset. What do you think about this issue?
