When You Feel: Behind

Whether you feel behind on your to-do list or behind in life, there are always times when each of us wish that we were further along. But, how do we handle this emotion biblically? That is what we want to talk about today. Our encouragement is trust God with the gap between where you are and where you want to be?even if that gap never closes. And to obsess over faithfulness where you are instead of obsessing over the future. We talk in detail about this and the Scriptures that led us to these conclusions in today?s podcast!

When You Feel Misunderstood

Have you ever felt misunderstood? There can be something so frustrating when you do not feel heard or understood. In today?s conversation, Shelby and Krystal discuss when we as women are most tempted to feel misunderstood as well as the responses that often come out of feeling that way. We can sometimes dismiss the ?respectable? sins such as pride but Scripture is clear to point us toward away from pride and toward a humble posture. By walking in humility, we seek to honor the Lord and others in the way we process and respond to situations where we feel misunderstood.

Making Time for Bible Study When You Have No Time

There?s no doubt about it?we are busy people. We live in a world that values and prioritizes hustle and busyness. Sadly, this impacts our spiritual lives as we push aside the most important thing (being with God in His Word) and trade it for the seemingly urgent things in front of us. The truth is if we have time for Netflix and Instagram, we have time to spend with Jesus. The question is?how are we prioritizing our time and our lives to ensure that we make time for what matters most?

We hope this conversation reminds you that you are not alone in whatever season you are experiencing and that the God of the universe sees you in the midst of it all. It is during the busiest times that we need to cling to Him all the more.

Sticking with the Church in Hard and Hurtful Seasons w/Natalie Runion

When it comes to the church, we often talk about the hard and holy, but do we talk about the hope and holy? Natalie Runyon from Raised to Stay is on today?s podcast to talk about all of this and so much more! Natalie is a pastor?s kid who went on to serve on church staff for many years. She experienced what many of us have experienced: hurt, betrayal, pain, confusion, exhaustion. But instead of turning her back on the Church, she leaned in to see what the Lord had for her in the midst of the suffering. Natalie?s story is one of surrender and we know you will be encouraged by it.

Women and Leadership w/Kristin Schmucker

Show Notes:   This is the final episode in our ?Women and?.? series where we?ve been talking about how to navigate tricky spaces such as calling, work, home, church, and mental health as a woman. We knew that we couldn?t wrap up this series without talking and navigating leadership roles as a woman, because all women lead in some capacity!   In this episode, Kristin shares about her own journey of leadership, talks us through some leadership pitfalls and how to avoid them, and gets really honest about the challenges she faces as a woman leader. Mistakes We?ve Made in Bible Study: Reading with our Heart and Not Our Head

This is the second episode in our Mistakes We've Made in Bible Study series and we're talking about the mistake of reading with our heart and not our head. What do we mean by reading with our heart and not our head? We mean that we decide what Scripture means by feeling only and not by fact. While our hearts should absolutely be engaged in Bible reading, when we read with only our hearts and not our heads, we run the risk of an incomplete or incorrect interpretation. And that can lead us to misunderstand who God is and how He relates to His people.   So? learn from our mistake! Come listen to this episode and let us teach you how we?ve learned to read with both our heart and our head.   Sign up for the Daily Grace Podcast Newsletter and receive the free resource "Scripture for Every Season.?   Time Stamps: 1:01 - Favorite Things 2:12 - What does it mean to read with our heart and not our head? 6:42 - What happens if we only read the Bible with our heart 9:50 - Reading with your head AND your heart 13:08 - Don't miss out on God's story by making the Bible about yourself 13:55 - How to get started reading the Bible with your head and your heart   Favorite Things: Adidas CloudFoam Shoes Kirkland Banana Chocolate Protein Drinks   Resources mentioned in this episode:  Quiet Time Tips Podcast Series Beyond the Basics Workshop   Connect with us: Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our Apple podcast page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast). Bible Misinterpretation: How to Avoid It and Not Be Afraid of It w/Elizabeth Woodson

In today?s episode, Bible teacher Elizabeth Woodson shows us some helpful places to start when it comes to Bible study! She talks about ways we can study in order to avoid major interpretation traps as well as the heart behind why we study. We shouldn?t be afraid of making mistakes in our study of Scripture. (Because we will make mistakes!) Instead, we should let it draw us closer to the Lord, relying on the Spirit to help us as we learn biblical truths. If you want to grow in your ability to rightly handle the Word of God, then you won?t want to miss this conversation!

The opinions of guests on the Daily Grace podcast do not represent the opinions of The Daily Grace Co., and we do not necessarily endorse the resources that they recommend or mention on the show. We believe it is valuable to hear from a variety of guests, even if we do not agree in all areas. As always, the statements made by hosts and guests on the show should be tested against God?s Word, the only authority on truth.
