Feeling Things with Amy & Kat

Feeling Things with Amy & Kat is a podcast for anyone who’s ever had feelings—or wants to. Hosted by Amy Brown and therapist Kat Van Buren, this is a space where nothing is off-limits. From deep reflections on childhood to pop culture obsessions to what’s happening in the world, all feelings deserve a seat at the table—big, small, awkward, joyful, confusing, and everything in between. At its core, it’s real friends having real conversations about real feelings. Some episodes go deep, some stay light, but all are rooted in curiosity, honesty, and connection. In a world that moves fast, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause... and feel things.

What's God Got To Do With It?: Currency of the Soul: God's Truth About Your Divine Worth

Leanne is back to continue exploring this complex topic of worthiness, diving into the paradox of feeling worthy when you DON'T feel worthy. Once again Leanne talks about the 5 Blocks to God’s love, originally introduced as a 'Self-Imaging' formula, and how these blocks, if not addressed, can hinder your experience of love and worthiness.

This time however, the spotlight turns to the third ingredient and God Block: Self-Worth, as Leanne emphasizes the importance of understanding what you're "weighing and measuring" to define your own worth. She shares personal experiences of tying self-worth SOLELY to external factors like appearance, relationships, and achievement, and how goal-setting can be great, but if that's the ONLY place you are finding your worth, that's where the trouble lies.

Leanne encourages and invites you to create a new definition of self-worth, only this time around taking a "spiritual currency" into account and seeking God's perspective on your divine worth, teaching you how to embrace the concept of taking radical ownership of your own Self-Image... while inviting God into the process as your co-pilot and divine partner.

Write Your Story: This is for AFTER You Follow Your Bliss

There is the story you want to tell with your life. And then there is the one that is asking to be told, through you.

The one that’s asking to be told through you:

Probably terrifies you Challenges your sense of yourself Makes you feel out of control  Calls you past your old conception of yourself Might feel embarrassing  Overwhelms you when you think about it

And yet the story that’s trying to come through you is the reason you came here.

Soul Sessions: Your Body Is a Tuning Fork: How to Listen to Your Physical Body’s Intuitive Signals

This week on Soul Sessions, Amanda Rieger Green explores how sensitive and intelligent our physical bodies are, and how the “rules of engagement” for health and healing have shifted in the years since COVID. She opens with reflective questions to help you set an honest baseline: What has your body been telling you lately? Do you push through exhaustion more often than not? When did you last give yourself real time to recover? Amanda shares her personal experience of how mind-body tools that once worked easily stopped working the same way, and why the dense physical body is often the last part of us to catch up when our consciousness shifts. She talks about the symptoms many people are noticing, including fatigue, anxiety, inflammation, skin flare-ups, and swelling, and how to use them as intuitive data, including asking “is this mine?” about what your body is processing. Amanda also emphasizes the balance between spiritual awareness and medical discernment, and shares a few of the practices and practitioners that have supported her own healing. A grounding, honest episode on treating your one body as the brilliant, intuitive vehicle it is.

Guilt After Growth, Crying Under Pressure & Avoiding Anger (Couch Talks)

We kick things off with an email from a husband who’s made it through the early stages of therapy and is facing something people rarely talk about: the guilt and regret that can come with new self-awareness. Amy and Kat walk through the emotional J-curve of growth, why feeling worse can actually be a sign you’re healing, and how to take responsibility without sinking into shame. Next up, a big-hearted mom dealing with a high-conflict co-parenting situation and the fear of heading back to court asks what so many of us quietly wonder: How do I stay composed when I tend to cry under pressure? Kat shares ways to ground yourself when your nervous system tries to take the wheel. Plus, we talk about avoiding anger, a book recommendation (Theo of Golden), and more.

So, is it okay to fake a significant other to escape a conversation?

Plus, the four phrases people with remarkable minds say all the time (and whether we’ve ever heard Lunchbox say any of them), Amy’s newest pet peeve (please stop taking 45 pictures when someone hands you their phone!), how to secretly read anyone, and eight simple marriage maintenance habits that keep couples connected, from the six-second kiss to the weekly check-in.

What's God Got To Do With It?: When Who You Are Becomes Who Everyone Needs You to Be with Angie Smith

In this powerful conversation, Angie Smith gets honest about the pressure so many of us feel to perform, prove, perfect, and become whoever we think the room needs us to be. And often, the identities we wear so confidently—“the achiever,” “the responsible one,” “the perfectionist,” “the strong one”—may have less to do with who we truly are and more to do with how we learned to feel safe, accepted, and enough.

As a bestselling author, Bible teacher, speaker, and developmental psychologist, Angie brings a unique perspective to the intersection of psychology, identity, and faith. In her new book, Into the Deep: Finding Relief from Pressure, Exhaustion, and the Need to Perform in a Shallow World, she invites us to move beyond surface-level survival and discover what happens when we stop trying to earn an identity that God says was never ours to earn in the first place.

In this episode, we explore the intersection of neuroscience and faith, why affirmations like “I am enough” don't always change what we believe deep down, and how perfectionism, people-pleasing, comparison, impostor syndrome, and control can become strategies for protecting ourselves from rejection or shame. We also talk about what happens when our theology says we're loved, chosen, and worthy, but our self-image tells a completely different story.

We bring the conversation into food and body, the exhausting belief that changing something externally will finally make us feel different internally, and what it looks like to stop using our bodies, achievements, relationships, or productivity as evidence of our worth. Angie also shares what it means to trust God when trusting Him doesn't guarantee the outcome we want—and how to recognize when we've turned even our relationship with God into another place to perform.

This isn't about becoming a shinier, better, more impressive version of yourself. It's about questioning the patterns and identities you've built around performance, approval, and control—and discovering who you already are when you stop trying to become whoever the room needs you to be.

Soul Sessions: Insecurity & Comparison Aren't Flaws — They're Data (How to Reclaim Your Energy Field)

This week on Soul Sessions, Amanda Rieger Green explores insecurity and comparison — not as flaws to fix, but as data points showing where we've outsourced our sovereignty and energy. Why do we contract on social media, with siblings, even in spiritual communities? Amanda unpacks how these triggers show up, and offers a practical framework for noticing when your energy field is expanding versus contracting.

In this episode:

How family dynamics can trigger comparison even amid deep love Why social media is "low-hanging fruit" for noticing your energy field contract Comparison and competition in the spiritual/metaphysical community Moving from competition to cohesion as a collective energetic shift Why owning your experience — without needing it to match anyone else's — raises your frequency

Just a Rut or Is It a Midlife Crisis? (Couch Talks)

A listener is feeling a little blah, so Amy and Kat are here to help. On paper, life looks great: the house, the kids, the routines. But something feels stuck. Is it an early midlife crisis, or just part of being in your 30s? The girls talk about how even a beautiful life can feel a bit flat sometimes, why that’s completely normal, and how to go out and create a spark instead of waiting for one to find you.

Let Your Feelings Ride Shotgun, Not Drive

Kat is out on maternity leave with her sweet new baby, Zoey, so Chase is filling in! Amy shares why she’s grateful for Chase, and Chase opens up about his own feeling of the day, while admitting he wasn’t even sure feelings were real. Turns out they are; they just aren’t facts. Let them ride shotgun, but don’t put them in the driver’s seat… ya know??

This one is a totally free-flowing conversation, and it goes everywhere: what it was like sitting next to Nicole Kidman during a movie, the great no-shoes-in-the-house debate (Chase HATES that Amy made this a rule), and why Chase thinks about death a lot while Amy… really doesn’t.

Write Your Story: Sell Your Art, Without Shame

I watched my two young kids have their first experience with monetizing their art and I walked away with one conclusion.

Art deserves to be celebrated, sold and reciprocated (financially).

I haven’t always felt this way.

I’ve wrestled with the question of what art is worth. Or rather, I’ve felt a strange need to keep my creativity and capitalism separated.

But in today’s episode, I’ll share why I think it matters that you not just see your art as valuable in general — but as worth actual dollars.

In what ways can you sell your art without shame?

Carrying the Mental & Financial Load + Should You Have a Best Friend? (Couch Talks)

A listener asked us to talk about something so many women quietly carry: the weight of the household, especially the financial responsibility and the pressure that comes with it. Plus, a few of our favorite financial voices to follow on IG. We're also answering a question from a 38-year-old mom who has lots of friends but no "best friend." Is that normal? And should she have one? Kat shares a book recommendation that might change how you think about your people. In a Bad Mood? Ask Yourself These 4 Questions

Ever been in a terrible mood and couldn't figure out why? Amy was falling apart until she remembered a simple check-in she learned for her kids years ago: H.A.L.T. Plus, what to say instead of "it's OK" when it really isn't, the texts to send this week if you're craving more community, and five brilliant people-handling tricks from a grandma who ran a psych ward for 35 years. Write Your Story: Subtraction > Addition

If you’ve been doing everything you know how to do to make a change, and nothing is changing, consider this:

Maybe LESS is actually more.

Maybe making progress is less about how much you can add and more about how much you can subtract.

There is a time for trying harder and doing more.

There is also a time for subtracting what no longer fits.

So today’s episode comes with a challenge: what can you take away that might move the needle infinitely more than anything you could add?

Soul Sessions: Reprogram Your Unconscious: Everyday Habits to Rewrite Your Inner Dialogue

This week on Soul Sessions, Amanda Rieger Green teaches a powerful, practical technique for shifting the unconscious programs running beneath your conscious mind — using activities you already do every day. Brushing your teeth, showering, folding laundry, doing your skincare routine, or driving a familiar route are all low cognitive load moments where your subconscious is free to run its usual script: worry, rehearsal, criticism, future tripping. Amanda walks through her own process for catching these patterns without judgment, using a simple smile or breath to interrupt the loop, then consciously introducing a new dialogue through questions, intentions, or her go-to phrase, "Today I'm available for…" She shares real moments — like laughing at herself over a Sunday morning coffee pot rehearsing an argument — that illustrate how awareness alone starts to change the pattern, and how repetition in these small daily windows builds real, lasting shifts in peace, ease, and resilience. No extra time required — just a new way of using the time you already have.

What's God Got To Do With It?: She Was a Pastor But Couldn't Receive What She Taught

Colleen was a pastor. She was teaching God's word, leading others, preaching identity in Christ. But behind closed doors, she felt like a hypocrite.

She knew what God said about her. She could teach it. She believed it was true... for everyone else. But for her, it felt like words on a page that wouldn't land in her heart.

And on top of that, she was carrying a lifetime of shame about her body. Since she was eight years old, shopping in the "chubby girls" section, she'd been told she had a problem to fix. She'd been on every diet. She'd tried to overachieve in everything else to make up for the one area she couldn't get right. She'd been given mixed messages her whole life: skinny is beautiful, but you're okay just the way you are. Don't overeat, but finish everything on your plate. Sugar is bad, but it's the reward for being good.

By the time menopause hit, she was gaining more weight, trying harder and harder to lose it, and sinking into the lowest point of her life. She felt like a failure. She felt disgusted with herself. And the worst part? She couldn't reconcile what she knew in her head with what she felt in her heart.

She had seen God heal her miraculously from incurable diseases. So why couldn't she get from what she knew about her identity in Christ to actually seeing it and feeling it in her life? She kept thinking: I'm the problem. I have to fix myself.

Colleen had fought so many battles—behavioral modification, diet plans, spiritual disciplines, positive affirmations—but she was fighting the wrong battles. And when you fight the wrong battles, you don't win the war.

When she heard Leanne's podcast with Dr. Lee Warren, she cried through the whole thing. She thought, This is too good to be true. But she was desperate. She had nowhere else to turn. And she asked God, Did you put Leanne in my path?

In this powerful case study, Colleen shares how she finally learned to go to the root instead of just trying to fix the behavior. How she dismantled the lies that had infiltrated every area of her life and built what she calls "new beautiful beliefs"—not positive affirmations, but truth that actually landed in her bones. How she learned to be friends with her body again, to take off the minister hat and just be the woman, the essence, the soul God created her to be.

Today, Colleen is at peace with herself for the first time in her life. She's not obsessed with her weight or her size. She's not fixated on what she looks like. She's learning to care for her body instead of punishing it. She's starting strength training—not to lose weight, but to get stronger and thrive. She's wearing clothes that make her feel alive instead of hiding in frumpy baggy outfits. She's showing up in rooms without worrying about how she looks or what she said. She's ushering in God's peace and grace instead of getting pulled into other people's chaos.

And the sweetest part? She has a hope-filled expectation for the future. Instead of dreading getting older, fatter, more wrinkled, she's asking, What's the abundant part of life here for me in this season? She's living Psalm 92: Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They will bear fruit even in old age.

If you've ever felt like you know God's promises are true but they don't feel true for you, or if you've ever felt like a hypocrite because you can't receive what you teach, Colleen's story is for you. Because healing isn't about trying harder or praying more or fasting more. It's about going to the root. It's about learning how to take your thoughts captive in a way that actually works. And it's about finally surrendering—not giving up, but letting God show you the right battle to fight so you can win the war.

Write Your Story: The Next Step in Your Creative Path

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to join us for The River Within, the new program I’m hosting with my friend Ruthie Lindsey.

In this episode, we’ll awaken your creative gifts and activate your life force!

One of the ways we’ll do this is through the topic of today’s episode: aligned, messy action.

If you’re a thoughtful, deliberate, intentional person, you likely struggle with aligned, messy action. You probably prefer precise, perfect, effective action.

And yet what you need most might be permission to try and fail.

Permission to move forward, even if it’s not the “right” move.

That’s exactly the permission I’m granting in this episode, and in The River Within. I hope you’ll join us.

Soul Sessions: October 2026 Energy Forecast: Venus & Mercury Retrograde, Pluto Direct & the 11/2 Master Month

This week on Soul Sessions, Amanda Rieger Green maps out the energetic terrain of October — a month she describes as a curious and wild ride. She opens with an oracle card pull, "Relax the Hold of Darkness and Be at Cause," setting the tone for a month that asks for courage, trust, and a loving, courageous heart leading the way.

Amanda breaks down the astrology at play: Venus retrograde in Scorpio backing into Libra, Pluto stationing direct in Aquarius after months of internal transformation, Mercury retrograde arriving late in the month, plus a Libra new moon and Taurus full moon. Numerologically, we're in an 11/2 master month — an energy of relationships, sensitivity, and higher connection.

Amanda walks through three major themes to navigate this month: energetic permeability and overwhelm, relational mirroring (what your relationships are reflecting back to you), and the deeper biological mutations many people are feeling as consciousness accelerates. Practical tools included: how to tell if overwhelm is "yours," a simple physical reset for anxiety, and why prayer and intention can be some of the most powerful things you do this month.

When Everything Falls Apart at Once & Stuck in the Middle of a Family Feud (Couch Talks)

What do you do when all the bad things are happening at once? This week, a listener shares that her husband is recovering from open heart surgery while three of her siblings have been diagnosed with serious cancers. She's always been the positive one, but now she feels numb and can't even cry. Should she force herself to feel it, push it away, or just be grateful she's okay? We talk through grief, worry, and how to hold it all when life gets really hard.

Then, a listener finds herself stuck in the middle after her mom and her husband's estranged dad started dating (and even walked down the aisle together at her wedding!). Now the relationship has turned toxic, her husband wants nothing to do with either of them, and everyone is waiting for someone else to apologize first. How do you keep the peace when your family is torn apart?

Have a question for us? Send it our way and we might answer it on the show!

What's God Got To Do With It?: When "Fixing Yourself" Becomes the Problem with Dr. Alison Cooke

In this powerful conversation, Dr. Alison Cook gets honest about something many of us don't realize: we can know all the right things about God, healing, and ourselves—and still have parts of us that don't feel safe, connected, or secure.

As a psychologist of religion, licensed therapist, and bestselling author, Alison has spent decades exploring the intersection of psychology, faith, and spiritual formation. But in her new book, The Secure Soul: Finding Inner Strength and Connection When Trust Doesn't Come Easy, she takes us beyond simply understanding our patterns and into the deeper work of tending to the parts of ourselves that learned to protect, perform, control, or disconnect in order to feel safe.

In this episode, we explore the intersection of neuroscience and faith, how early experiences can shape our brains, nervous systems, self-image, and even the way we experience God. We talk about the difference between who we truly are and who we learned to become in order to feel safe, why some of the behaviors we desperately want to "fix" may actually be attempts to protect us, and what happens when our theology says "God loves me" but something inside of us still struggles to let that love land.

We also bring this conversation into food and body, perfectionism, self-criticism, and the pressure so many women feel to become a better version of themselves. Alison shares what it means to "Recognize & Return," why receiving love and care can sometimes feel harder than giving it, and how healthy self-trust and trust in God can work together instead of competing with each other.

This isn't about finding one more thing about yourself to fix. It's about learning how to stop abandoning the parts of yourself that need your presence—and discovering a deeper kind of security rooted in connection with yourself, with others, and ultimately with God.

Dealing with Narcissists at Work

Working for or with a narcissist can seriously damage your mental and physical health. Today we're breaking down what narcissism actually looks like at work, from the loud, degrading "overt" boss everyone can spot, to the sneakier "communal narcissist" who love-bombs you, plays the hero, and quietly discards you once they've gotten what they need. We talk about why these people rise to the top, how toxic teams end up mirroring dysfunctional families with everyone playing a role, and what to actually do if you're stuck in a workplace like this, including documenting everything, setting boundaries, and being honest with yourself about how much you can really take. Plus, this week's Hasbro Moment honors a teacher, coach, and dad who shows up fully for kids both in and out of the classroom.

What's God Got To Do With It?: Making Peace With What I Can't Control with Lysa TerKeurst

In this powerful conversation, Lysa TerKeurst gets honest about something most of us don't want to admit: we all have control issues. And often, what we call "being responsible" or "planning ahead" is actually fear disguised as strength.

As the founder of Proverbs 31 Ministries and a #1 New York Times bestselling author, Lysa has spent years helping women navigate boundaries, forgiveness, and faith. But in her new book, Making Peace With What I Can't Control, she reveals her own struggle with trying to change people who don't want to change, prevent outcomes she feared, and manage things that were never hers to control in the first place.

In this episode, we explore the intersection of neuroscience and faith, how our brains are wired to seek certainty and safety, and what happens when our need for control bumps up against our relationship with God. Lysa shares how to know when we've crossed the line from healthy responsibility into fear-driven control, what it actually looks like to surrender without giving up, and how to make peace with trusting God's heart when we don't understand what He allows.

This isn't about becoming passive. It's about learning the difference between what is actually ours to steward and what was never ours to carry. If you've ever felt exhausted from overthinking, trying to fix others, or wanting to figure it all out, this conversation is for you.

Write Your Story: Here’s Why You Should Celebrate Yourself

I used to think celebrating myself was self-centered. Self-aggrandizing.

A waste of time at best.

An overextension of the ego at worst. If someone else wanted to celebrate me, I would let it happen. But letting it in was a whole different story.

When it came to celebrating myself, it used to be a non-starter.

But I changed my mind and I want to tell you about it.

Soul Sessions: Why We Ignore What We Already Know (And How to Break the Pattern)

This week on Soul Sessions, Amanda Rieger Green explores the space between what we know deep down and what we're actually willing to do about it. Why do we stay in relationships, jobs, and patterns that felt "off" from the very beginning? Amanda breaks down how fear disguises itself as pride, loyalty, people-pleasing, and rationalization — and walks through the shift many of us are feeling between third, fourth, and fifth-dimensional consciousness (and why the "fourth dimension" can feel like walking against ocean waves). She shares a personal pattern she's tracked in herself for years — the quick slide from sensitivity into criticism and self-righteousness — as an example of how to notice and interrupt old coding without shame or over-analysis. Amanda also offers practical, low-hanging-fruit tools for pattern-breaking: movement, sleep intentions, hydration, and nourishing food choices as the foundation for bigger courage and bigger change. If you're staying somewhere because the discomfort feels familiar rather than facing the unknown, this episode is your permission to trust what you already know.

Is It 'Bad Enough' To Ask For Help? (Couch Talks)

We're answering two emails that hit close to home for a lot of listeners. First, Sarah, 32, writes in feeling like a stranger to herself after a lifetime of being whoever everyone else needed her to be, and asks how to actually start figuring out who she is. We talk through some real starting points, from noticing what energizes you to practicing choosing for yourself in small ways. Then Mary, 47, shares a vulnerable question about a long, complicated relationship with food and her body, and asks how you know if something is "serious enough" to get help for, even when you're still functioning and showing up for your life. We talk through why the answer to that question might be simpler than she thinks.

Comfort Over Cool: Confessions of Getting Older

Amy's feeling proud, while Kat's feeling sad! We confess all the ways we've settled into getting older, from sensible shoes to loving vacuums to not wanting to go to concerts that start too late. Kat takes us through the realization that millennials are no longer "the future" (or the problem child) as Gen Z has officially taken over that title. Plus: a story about the time Amy's mom showed up at school and walked her to class, a mom who told her kids the TV "broke" four months ago, taking a cruise to Antarctica, and this week's Hasbro Moment honoring a teacher whose family tradition of playing Monopoly turned into decades of showing up for a family in need.

What's God Got To Do With It?: Removing the Blocks: Self-Acceptance and God's Unwavering Grace

In this episode of the "God Pod", Leanne invites you to redefine "surrender" and actively shift from self-reliance to God's guidance. Diving into the first ingredient AND the first "God Block", the focus is on Self-Acceptance as both an ingredient for a loving Self-Image and a potential block to receiving God's love.

Write Your Story: To Learn the Truth, Listen to the Body

The dominant cultural narrative says that truth lies in data, rational thinking and logic.

And so when we set out to heal, we think we need to alter the thoughts, reframe the story, and get the mind under control (and for a while this may even work).

But then there comes a point where the body begins to disagree with the mind.

The body doesn’t care about “right” answers.

The body doesn’t care how you’re “supposed” to feel.

The body is unconvinced and unconcerned with positive affirmations.

The body has one objective and one objective only: to express what is inside. What’s true.

And a repressed body will eventually get louder. Much louder.

Are you willing to listen to the truth of the body?

Soul Sessions: Intentional Friendship, Front-Loading & the Energy of September (with Amy Brown)

This week on Soul Sessions, Amanda Rieger-Green welcomes a very special guest: her cousin Amy Brown, co-host of The Bobby Bones Show and Feeling Things with Amy and Kat, who traveled all the way to Cuenca, Ecuador to visit her. Amanda and Amy dive deep into what it means to be truly intentional in friendship, how the loss of both of their mothers deepened their bond, and why "front-loading" your schedule to protect time with the people you love is worth it. They talk through calling an audible, coping mechanisms disguised as chores (hello, aggressive counter-wiping), book recommendations for reconnecting with fiction, and how September's numerology landing as a 1 month in a 1 Universal Year, amplified into a 10, is asking all of us to engage more fully and show up present in our relationships. Amanda also opens up about a recent, tender loss and what it's teaching her about living in the now instead of waiting for "someday." A warm, funny, and honest conversation about presence, reciprocity, and inhabiting your life with the people who matter most.

We're also unpacking a body language expert's claim that carrying two bags to work makes you look "chaotic" and unprofessional, answering a listener's question about LENS neurofeedback therapy, and Kat's tackling a great question from Mary (a fellow therapist-in-training) about how to balance hosting a podcast with keeping client boundaries intact.

What's God Got To Do With It?: Unraveling Worthiness: Breaking Down the 5 'Blocks' to God's Love

Leanne is kicking off a new series based on her own experiences navigating "The Paradox of Worthiness" (as she calls it). As in, how do you feel worthy when you don't feel worthy?

There is so much talk nowadays about self-love and worthiness, but the crucial question remains: How do we truly embrace it if all we’ve ever known is the opposite? How do you suddenly feel worthy if all you’ve ever known is feeling unworthy?

In this kickoff to the series, Leanne introduces you to (what she calls) "The 5 Blocks To Love", and how she discovered that when it came to actually FEELING worthy of being loved, that was a really hard concept for her to grasp at first. It felt like something was actually blocking her.

And that's when she discovered that there were "5 Blocks" that were hindering her ability to RECEIVE what was already there, and that this was what was actually causing her resistance. She also discovered that removing those blocks catapulted her ability to connect to herself, others, and God.

You're going to get an in-depth look at each of these blocks in this upcoming series, but first she dives into the fusion of faith, neuroscience, and self-image as a pathway to feeling worthy and putting yourself in the optimal position to remove your own blocks.

Soul Sessions: September 2026 Numerology: The Capstone Month & the Power of the 1 Year

September is the capstone month of numerology — the ninth month landing inside a 1 Universal Year (2026), amplified by the energy of 10.

In this episode, Amanda Rieger Green breaks down why this month accelerates new beginnings, self-authorship, and identity, and why so much closure has shown up in a year that's supposed to be about starting fresh.

She unpacks the shadow side of the 1 (urgency, busyness for its own sake), the meaning of the 0 as pure potential and higher consciousness, and how to recognize what's still emerging in you from the last nine-year cycle (going back to 2017, the last 10 Year).

Amanda also shares how the body is processing accelerated energetic shifts, why the small moments — not the big dramatic ones — carry the most data about where your life force wants to go, and what to expect as September, October, and November build toward each other.

Plus: how to find your personal year and personal month for September, and details on Amanda's Frequency Field fall bundle for anyone wanting to go deeper in community.

What Your Fidgeting Says About You + 7 Morning Habits of Happy Couples

Do you touch your hair or fidget with your jewelry at work? We're breaking down a communication expert's take on small nervous habits, twirling your hair, fixing your earrings, playing with loud bangles, and why these tiny, seemingly harmless movements can unintentionally read as nervousness or even flirtation to the people around you.

We got a sweet DM from a listener grateful for the show's prep work ahead of Kat's baby, a hilariously dark confession about making a younger sibling cry on purpose as a kid, and a whimsical mental reframe for creating your own "golden ticket" to a great day.

Soul Sessions: Why You Can Feel Lonely Even When You're Not Alone

You can be loved, surrounded, and constantly connected — and still feel profoundly unmet. In this solo episode, Amanda unpacks the difference between solitude, isolation, and loneliness, and why loneliness isn't about lacking people — it's information.

Drawing on her public health background (and the loneliness research she presented to Amazon during the pandemic), Amanda explores why this "epidemic" has only deepened since 2021, and connects it to the current astrology — Saturn and Neptune both retrograde in Aries — asking us to grow up and soften at the same time.

In this episode, Amanda covers:

The real difference between nourishing solitude and protective isolation Why loneliness can happen in a crowded room, a marriage, or a community How to stop pathologizing your loneliness and start listening to it The question to ask instead: what kind of connection am I actually hungry for? Where you might be performing connection instead of experiencing it

What's God Got To Do With It?: Acting As If (DOING) When What You Say Doesn't Align With What You Do

PART 4 of 4: If you're tired of the 'say-do' gap, this episode will help bridge the divide and you'll see that you can achieve results by working smarter, not harder. The final part to break free from negativity and help you nurture an "emotionally healthy" brain is the doing and you're awesome for making it to the homestretch!

In PART 4 you learn:

- How to play a "winning game" (And STOP playing a "losing game")
- Minimums, not maximums (and how this is also part of neuro-magic)
- How to "Reverse Engineer" your life.
- Now you can truly “act as if.”

All the resources mentioned in this episode can be found at:

This is a 4-part series, so if you missed PARTS 1, 2 & 3 go give them a listen. Amy & Leanne designed it to listen to (in order 1-4) to help you learn, grasp, and use right away – even if “positive thinking" or “acting as if” has NEVER worked for you in the past.

Write Your Story: Stop Doubting Your Brilliance

You are brilliant.

You don’t think you are, but you are.

The exact way that you move through the world, that you love others, that you dress, that you speak, that you take care of people, that you create and make and dance and laugh is magical and needed and utterly irreplaceable.

The problem is you’re second-guessing it. You’re downplaying it.

You tell yourself that you don’t want to be too arrogant or think too highly of yourself.

You don’t want to stand up too tall or shine too brightly.

This is your reminder to shine EXACTLY THAT BRIGHT. To shine so brightly that you feel like an absolute fool.

We need you, your heart, your essence and all of your magic.

One-Upping vs. Relating, a Friend Dilemma & a Stolen Spotlight (Couch Talks)

A listener wants to know the difference between relating to someone's story and accidentally one-upping them, where does connection end and competition begin?

We also tackle a tricky friendship dilemma: a listener whose friend gets loud, aggressive, and mean when she drinks too much on trips, and now keeps inviting herself along to group vacations.

And finally, we answer a heartfelt letter from a bride whose engagement season has been completely overshadowed, first by a wave of friends getting engaged around the same time, and now by her own dad's upcoming wedding.

How to Get People to Like You More + Why Glen Powell Couldn't Eat Ketchup for Years

Amy bought Glen Powell's ketchup on a whim at the store and there’s so much more to this then we realized. We get into his wild journey from a childhood ketchup trauma to co-founding his own organic condiment brand, Smash Kitchen.

Kat unpacks family systems for us and the different roles people tend to fall into growing up, the Hero, the Mascot, the Lost Child, the Placater, and the Scapegoat, and talk through why the "truth teller" of the family so often ends up labeled as the problem.

We also talk about a psychological trick called the Benjamin Franklin Effect, the surprising reason people actually like you more when you ask them for a small favor, not the other way around.

Plus, we share an incredibly touching story from a Hasbro Moment listener whose autistic son found connection and confidence through simple board games like Hi Ho! Cherry-O and Hungry Hungry Hippos, thanks to a teacher who knew exactly what he needed.

Hasbro is sponsoring Feeling Things for 8 weeks, celebrating back to school by getting families around the table with games again.

Even better: they're helping us honor amazing teachers! Know one? Email [email protected] or call 877-207-2077, they could get featured on the show, plus a $500 Walmart gift card from Hasbro for classroom supplies.

Grab your favorite Hasbro games like Guess Who?, Monopoly, Clue & more at Walmart.com!

Soul Sessions: What If Heaven on Earth Is Now?

What if the best moment of your life isn't a future milestone — but today? In this solo episode, Amanda explores what it really means to be soulful: not the extraordinary or transcendent, but the ordinary — a song on the radio, a waiting room, a hard conversation you didn't run from.

Amanda reflects on presence, discernment, and the difference between performing a soulful life and actually living one — including how grief, pain, and uncertainty (what she calls "the hallway") can be some of the most soulful teachers we have.

In this episode, Amanda covers:

What "soulfulness" actually feels like in everyday moments — big and small Why discernment (not authenticity) is the real practice How to sit with uncertainty instead of rushing through it Why pain and grief can crack us open into deeper presence

Ask yourself this week: where are you finding your soul?
