Jose Ibarra, the sole suspect in the murder of University of Georgia jogger Laken Riley, has been found guilty on all charges. The ten charges include three counts of felony murder, malice murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault with intent to rape, and ?peeping Tom.?
In emotional testimony, University of Georgia Police Sgt. Sophie Raboud detailed the final moments of Riley?s life, breaking down the timeline into minutes. Before her final jog, Riley texted her mother at 8:55 a.m., asking if she was free to talk. At 9:03 a.m., Riley called her mother. She then listened to music and was seen on a trail camera at 9:05 a.m., holding her iPhone in her left hand as she jogged toward the intramural fields. By 9:06 a.m., Riley ran out of the camera?s view.
Minutes later, at 9:11 a.m., Riley activated the SOS function on her iPhone to call 911. The dispatcher was unable to speak with her before the call was disconnected. The dispatcher attempted to call back twice but received no answer. Riley?s phone later received a call from her mother at 9:24 a.m. When Riley failed to respond, her mother sent a text at 9:38 a.m. reading, ?Call me when you can.?
During closing arguments, State Prosecutor Shelia Ross outlined the evidence supporting each charge, describing Ibarra as ?a monstrously guilty individual.?
Defense attorney Kaitlyn Beck presented two alternative theories: that DNA was transferred onto clothes found in the apartment, implicating Ibarra?s brother Diego as the murderer, or that Ibarra may have been an accomplice but not the primary culprit.
Ultimately, Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard found Jose Ibarra guilty on all counts.

Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old migrant from Venezuela, faces 10 charges, including malice murder, three counts of felony murder,
kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault with intent to rape, aggravated battery, obstruction of a person making an emergency call, tampering with evidence, and Peeping Tom.
On the eve of jury selection for his murder trial, Ibarra waived his right to a jury trial during a pre-trial hearing and requested a bench trial. A judge will now hear the case and render a verdict instead of a jury. The presiding judge, Superior Court Judge Patrick Haggard, is known for his no-nonsense approach.
Haggard has personal experience with violent crime, as his father, a salesman, was fatally shot during a gunfire exchange with two men attempting to rob him in a Georgia apartment complex in 1992.
Special Prosecutor Sheila Ross alleges that Ibarra was "hunting for women" on the day of Laken Riley's murder. Ross stated that Riley fought fiercely against her attacker, leaving marks on Ibarra and securing his DNA under her fingernails.
She highlighted video evidence allegedly showing Ibarra disposing of a black jacket in a dumpster.
The same jacket, according to Ross, contained both Riley's and Ibarra's blood. Additionally, Ibarra is accused of leaving a fingerprint on Riley's iPhone while attempting to stop her from calling 911.

Ellen Greenberg was found stabbed to death in her apartment, with at least 20 stab wounds. She was stabbed in the back of the neck and head, and the final wound was a stab to the chest, with the knife left embedded there.
Her death was initially ruled a homicide by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner. However, police disagreed and publicly challenged the medical examiner's findings. Months later, Medical Examiner Marlon Osbourne, without warning or explanation, reclassified the death as a suicide.
Since then, Greenberg?s parents have fought to have her death ruled a homicide or inconclusive, only to learn that Pennsylvania state law allows a "medical examiner to be wrong as to the manner of death but cannot be compelled to change it."
The Chester County District Attorney's office announced it could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime occurred in Ellen Greenberg?s death. As a result, the investigation is now considered "inactive." The DA?s office said detectives reviewed prior investigations conducted by the Philadelphia Police and the Attorney General's office, interviewed new witnesses, and consulted with an independent forensic expert.
A spokesperson for the DA's office explained, ?This standard of proof?beyond a reasonable doubt?makes the criminal investigation different from other legal matters surrounding Ms. Greenberg?s death."
The Chester County DA's decision to move the investigation to "inactive" status does not change the fact that there is no statute of limitations for criminal homicide in Pennsylvania, and the case is not being closed. It will remain "open and inactive."

A jury has convicted Sarah Boone in the suitcase death of her boyfriend. Boone called 911, telling the operator that she and her boyfriend had been playing around, and she fell asleep.
When she woke up the next morning, Jorge Torres, Jr. was dead inside a suitcase, but that isn't exactly true. Although it's unclear how Boone convinced her 42-year-old boyfriend to get into the suitcase, we do know she zipped him inside and refused to let him out, no matter how much he begged. We know this because Boone recorded the incident on her phone, taunting Torres as he said he couldn't breathe and pleaded to be released.
Boone claims the couple had been drinking a bottle of wine and decided to play hide-and-seek. Court records show Torres had been in the suitcase for about three hours when Boone says she fell asleep, waking up late the next day. She says she then remembered Torres was still in the suitcase, pulled him out, found his body was purple, and attempted CPR. However, she also called her ex-husband before dialing 911.
Boone, 46, convicted of second-degree murder in Jorge Torres's death.

While the public believes Sean "Diddy" Combs is confined to a tiny cell at the MDC, he has actually been moved to the lowest-security unit in the prison, 4 North.
This unit provides access to a tablet, cards, music, TV, movies, ping-pong, air hockey, and even a peep show. Who needs expensive "freak offs" when male inmates can spy on female inmates through a grate in the floor?
Combs now faces 30 individual lawsuits. The latest accuses him of shooting at a man outside a New York City nightclub three years before the infamous Club NY shooting. DeWitt Gilmore claims he and two friends were leaving the nightclub when Combs, driven by his bodyguard, began hurling insults and threatening violence from the passenger seat of his car. Combs allegedly escalated the situation by blocking the men from leaving in their own car before firing several shots at them. Gilmore says they eventually lost Combs in traffic but could not determine what provoked the incident.
Ray J, a longtime friend of Diddy, claims many celebrities in Combs? inner circle are fearful of being implicated in legal actions. According to Ray J, some are reaching out to potential accusers and offering cash to keep their names out of lawsuits. He also alleges unnamed celebrities have approached him as a potential ?vessel? for leaks due to his friendship with Combs

On the morning of August 12, Ryan Borgwardt?s wife contacted authorities, reporting that her husband hadn?t returned from a kayaking trip on Green Lake the previous night and wasn?t answering his phone.
The Green Lake County Sheriff?s Office began a search around 5:32 p.m., focusing on Borgwardt?s last known location at Green Lake. Deputies soon located his vehicle and trailer parked near Dodge Memorial Park. About an hour later, authorities found a capsized kayak in the western part of the lake, where the water is approximately 220 feet deep.
They discovered the life jacket still attached to the kayak, and volunteers joined deputies in the search for Borgwardt.
Twenty-four hours into the search, crews deployed a drone and boats to perform a grid search of the lake. As efforts continued, Sheriff Mark Podoll announced that they were focusing on the lake?s deepest areas, covering hundreds of acres with the assistance of Bruce?s Legacy, a nonprofit specializing in search and recovery.
The sheriff indicated they were now searching for a body, believing Borgwardt drowned in the lake. Three cadaver dogs and a dive team were brought in to assist with recovery efforts.
Sheriff Podoll and his team then shifted their focus to reexamine the investigation from the beginning. They soon discovered that Canadian law enforcement had run Borgwardt?s name on August 13. Although Borgwardt?s passport was initially found at his home, investigators learned he had been issued a new passport on May 22 after reporting the original one lost.
Borgwardt?s wife, Emily, provided his laptop for investigation. A digital forensic analysis revealed that Borgwardt had replaced the hard drive and cleared all browser history the day he disappeared. Investigators believe he is now in Europe.
Further findings showed Borgwardt transferred funds to a foreign bank, changed his email address, and had been communicating with a woman from Uzbekistan before his disappearance.
The investigation also revealed that he had taken out a $375,000 life insurance policy seven months before vanishing and had purchased airline cards. Sheriff Podoll stated, after all they had uncovered, that Borgwardt is ?not in our lake.?
Note: After our Crime Stories broadcast, the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office posted this message on its Facebook page, "We do not believe the Tick Tock video is Ryan. We are in contact with the interviewer. Thank you to all for alerting us of his existence. We have verified this is not Ryan by contacting people who know Ryan."

Police arrested Pastor John-Paul Miller on assault charges unrelated to his wife?s suicide.
Protesters seeking ?Justice for Mica? have been stationed outside Miller?s Solid Rock Church for weeks, and their heckling has apparently affected Miller. When a woman among the protesters called out, ?Here, kitty, kitty...? as Miller walked by, Miller allegedly approached her, leaned close, and slapped her baseball cap twice before walking away. Miller now faces third-degree assault and battery charges.
Miller?s attorney, Russel Long, called the arrest ?outrageous? and claimed that the women recording Miller make taunting comments to bait and provoke him. Long argued that the city of Myrtle Beach has failed to protect Miller and Solid Rock Church by allowing ?protesters? to stalk and harass Miller and his congregants, effectively ?killing the church.?
He expressed concern that Miller?s arrest will only give protesters more motivation and momentum.

The jury took two minutes from entering the courtroom to announce the verdict: Richard Allen, guilty on all charges.
Allen was convicted of felony murder for Abby Williams and Libby German, as well as for knowingly and intentionally killing both girls. Judge Gull maintained order in the courtroom, where there were no outbursts, but outside on the streets of Delphi, shouts of "Guilty on all charges" echoed.
As Kathy Allen, Richard Allen's wife, left the courthouse, she was heard saying, "This isn't over at all."
The jury, composed of seven women and five men, heard 17 days of testimony, including dozens of witnesses, disturbing jailhouse videos of Richard Allen, and photos of Abby and Libby as they were found at the crime scene.
They deliberated for 19 hours over parts of four days to reach a unanimous verdict. Richard Allen was found guilty of four counts: two counts of felony murder and two counts of knowingly and intentionally killing Abby Williams and Libby German.

Elisa Lam embarks on a solo trip to California.
Despite her parents' protests, she reassures them with a promise to check in daily by phone. She posts on her Tumblr blog, "I have arrived in LaLa Land." She checks into the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, planning to stay in her shared hostel-style suite for four days and three nights.
Elisa is scheduled to check out of the Cecil Hotel on January 31, but she never does. Her parents grow concerned when Elisa misses her promised daily check-ins. They contact the LAPD, and a search begins for the young university student. Dogs search her room and the hotel rooftop, but there is no sign of Elisa.
Two weeks pass with no trace of Elisa Lam. The LAPD releases the last known video footage of her, hoping it will provide new leads. The video shows Elisa pressing multiple elevator buttons, gesturing to someone off-camera, and repeatedly peering down the hallway before retreating into a corner of the elevator.
Nineteen days after Elisa Lam?s disappearance, law enforcement still has not found her. Meanwhile, guests at the Cecil Hotel report low water pressure and an unusual, dark taste in the water, which has taken on a muddy, blackish color. A maintenance worker checks the rooftop water tanks and finds one of the four 1,000-gallon tanks open, with Elisa?s body floating face-up inside.

It's taken seven years, but the families of Abby Williams and Libby German sat in a courtroom today and heard Richard Allen declared guilty by a 12-person jury. Allen was convicted on all four charges, two counts of murder and two counts of murder while kidnapping the girls. The jury listened to nearly three weeks of testimony and deliberated a total of 18 hours.
The bodies of teen girls were found near the Monon High Bridge in February 2017, in Delphi. Allen, a Delphi resident and local pharmacy tech was arrested five years after the murders. Searchers found the two girls dead in a wooded area near the Monon High Bridge. Libby was unclothed and bloodied. Both girls had their throats slit.
Allen, who confessed at least 60 times, showed no emotion or reaction as the verdict was read. He was then cuffed and taken from the courtroom.
Allen?s wife, Kathy Allen, said ?this isn?t over at all? to 13 News as she left the courtroom.
Sentencing will be at 9am ET on December 20.

Shayna Hubers calls 911 from Ryan Poston's condo in Highland Heights, Kentucky, and tells dispatch "I killed my boyfriend in self-defense". Hubers tells police Ryan Poston had been beating her all day long, tossing her around like a rag doll, and when he pulled out his gun, she grabbed it and shot him in the face. Police read Shayna Hubers her "Miranda" rights, and Hubers asks for a lawyer. Even though Shayna Hubers has just been told she "has the right to remain silent" she lacks the ability, and tells investigators that she shot him twice in the face, then, as he was twitching, she said she thought he was going to die anyway or his face would be really deformed so she shot him 4 more times to make sure he was dead. Shayna Hubers tells police "I gave him the nose job he always wanted." Joseph Scott Morgan explains how the crime scene and Ryan Poston's clothes tell a different story than the one Shayna Hubers is telling and Dave Mack digs into the background of an 18-month relationship that ended in the murder of a man who seemed to be everyone's favorite person.

The man accused of molesting and killing Madeline Soto shortly after her 13th birthday will go to trial next fall. Stephan Sterns, the boyfriend of Madeline?s mother,
Jennifer Soto, faces charges of first-degree murder and 60 other offenses, including sexual battery, molestation, and possession of child pornography.
Hundreds of evidence photos offer a detailed view of the Kissimmee condo where Madeline lived with her mother and several roommates. The townhome, located in the gated Venetian Bay Villages community, belongs to Jennifer Soto?s father. Soto and Madeline occupied the first floor, while two roommates lived in upstairs bedrooms. At one point, Stephan Sterns rented the third upstairs bedroom, which was otherwise unoccupied.
As the investigation continues, a newly released interview shows that law enforcement has provided Jennifer Soto with ?derivative immunity,? a legal protection ensuring her statements cannot be used against her in future prosecution.
Soto gave the interview under an investigative subpoena and provided new details about her on-and-off relationship with Stephan Sterns and the hours leading up to her realization that Madeline was missing

Richard Allen's fate is now in the hand of the jury. Twelve men and woman have been tasked with determining, back on the evidence presented, whether or not Allen is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The burden of proof is on the state. The judge told the jury in their instruction that "beyond all possible doubt? is not their guidepost. She said defendants are not convicted on suspicion, and that the jury decision must be unanimous.
The defense surprised the courtroom yesterday by resting their case, not calling as many witnesses as expected. Closing arguments today were completed by lunchtime. Just after 1pm the jury went behind closed doors to pick a fore person. Deliberations will continue until 4pm today, unless the jury chooses to stay and deliberate longer. Sunday is the only day, deliberations won't take place.

Sean "Diddy" Combs marked his 55th birthday behind bars at the MDC, receiving a call from his children and enjoying a "breakfast cake" as his first meal of the day, followed by a choice of pizza, salad, or pasta for dinner.
The disgraced mogul faces his birthday amid a push to instate a gag order as new allegations emerge from witnesses and complainants. The latest claim? A grand jury witness reportedly possesses at least eight of Combs? sex tapes featuring A-list celebrities, some of whom may be minors.
Courtney Burgess, reportedly a friend of the late Kim Porter, told reporters outside the courthouse that he testified before the Diddy Grand Jury. Burgess claims Porter entrusted him with 11 flash drives shortly before her death. According to Burgess, the drives contain at least eight tapes depicting Combs with various A-list celebrities, whom he describes as victims, with two or three allegedly appearing as minors. Burgess says he no longer has the tapes in his possession.
Two days after Burgess?s public comments on his testimony, Combs? legal team submitted a letter to Judge Subramanian, urgently requesting a gag order. The defense cites Burgess?s media comments and a New York Post article quoting a federal agent as ?improper pretrial publicity? that, they argue, is making it ?impossible? for Combs to receive a fair trial.

Pastor John-Paul Miller was not home when the FBI Evidence Response Team raided his South Carolina residence.
The FBI declined to specify what they were searching for, and spokesman Kevin Wheeler told USA Today the agency was conducting ?court-authorized law enforcement activity.? Wheeler added that, due to the ongoing investigation, no further comment would be provided.
Russel Long, attorney for Pastor Miller, criticized the FBI?s actions, calling them a ?fishing expedition.? He stated, ?There was no affidavit attached to the search warrant, so I have no idea what it?s in relation to.? Throughout the day, members of the FBI?s Evidence Response Team entered and exited the home, carrying paper bags and other items.
Days before the raid, Pastor Miller filed documents with the South Carolina Secretary of State to incorporate a new religious organization, Living Water Church at Market Common. The filing describes the nonprofit as serving religious, educational, charitable, and literary purposes, listing Miller?s Myrtle Beach residence as the business address. Miller also formally updated the address of his existing church, Solid Rock Ministries, to its current location.

Prosecutors rest their case after 12 days, spending time proving that Richard Allen is infamous "Bridge Guy" captured on Libby German's phone. Prosecutors believe Libby and Abby were led down the hill to be raped before their killer panicked, slashed their throats and covered their bodies with sticks before fleeing the area. One of Richard Allen's 61 + confessions said he got scared by a white van.The prosecution found a neighbor got home in his white van near the scene of the murders.
The defense calls their first witness, Cheyenne Mill. She is walking the trails and bridge the day Abby and Libby vanished. Says she was there from 2:50pm, talked to her boyfriend on her phone at 3:12 pm, saw an overweight man on Freedom Bridge who did not say HI back to her. She describes the man as old with a camera around his neck. Mill tells jurors she didn't hear of seeing anything unusual or see anyone in the wooded area and she spoke to police the next day after hearing about the girls. Six months later the FBI contacted her saying her phone pinged on the Hight bridge February 13. Mill cries on stand talking about online vigilantes doxing her.

Rachel Morin's mother cried as the man charged in her murder walked into the courtroom. It was the first time Patty Morin had seen Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez in person. Now, a judge has granted a defense request to postpone the trial to April 1, 2025.
The suspect in Rachel Morin's brutal murder was found casually sitting in a Tulsa, Oklahoma bar. During the arrest, Hernandez initially lies to authorities about his true identity and denies any knowledge of the attack on a 9-year-old little girl in Los Angeles and the murder of Morin.
The Morin family and investigators strongly believe that the two known crimes are not the only ones Victor Hernandez committed while in the U.S. The attack on a little girl and her mother in L.A. came just two months after Hernandez allegedly murdered a woman in his native El Salvador.
Rachel Morin?s body was found nearly five months later, and another 10 months passed before Hernandez?s arrest. More than a year of Hernandez?s time in the U.S. is still unaccounted for.
While there is a sense of closure, Morin?s sister, Rebekah, says it also feels like "day one all over again."
Matt McMahon, the father of Morin?s eldest daughter, says the Ma and Pa trail feels like it ?belongs to Rachel again,? and is even more grateful for the arrest as their daughter, Faye, is now expecting her own little girl later this year.
McMahon describes the news as bittersweet, knowing how excited Rachel Morin would be to learn she was going to be a grandmother.

A judge ruled that Jennifer Gledhill cannot have contact with her children. Prosecutors say the children could be witnesses.
The defense claims the protective order is "an overall heavy-handed kind of punishment." Defense attorney Jeremy Deus told the judge, "It feels like the state, the city, and the police agency that investigated this are trying to set everything my client loves on fire." The judge lifted the protective order but maintained a no-contact order.
A police informant helped break the case when he told police that Matthew Johnson was murdered by his wife, Jennifer Gledhill. Pressed for more details, the informant claimed he knew what happened because he was having an affair with Gledhill, who had confided in him about the incident.
According to the informant, Gledhill told her "lover" that her husband yelled at her after discovering she was seeing someone else. Later that night, when he went to sleep in their shared bed, she allegedly shot him in the head. The informant also claimed Gledhill said she placed Johnson's body in a rooftop storage container, slid it down the stairs of their home, and loaded it into a minivan. She reportedly told him she dug a hole "north" of their home and buried the body in a shallow grave. Matthew Johnson remains missing.
Investigators also spoke with a neighbor who reported that Gledhill's parents were at the house cleaning late into the evening, despite her mother?s claim that they had only been there for an hour. Gledhill's mother allegedly said she bought a mattress from Amazon at her daughter?s request. Jennifer Gledhill's parents have now been arrested as well.

The investigation into Sean "Diddy" Combs has entered new territory as a New York federal grand jury hears new evidence. According to an attorney representing some victims, a male client of hers is testifying today.
This development follows new information about requirements Combs? employees reportedly enforced for admitting women to his White Parties. According to sources, these requirements included: women could not weigh over 140 pounds, with weight verified by a nearby scale.
Other restrictions included no flab, cellulite, excessive piercings, or heavy tattoos. Women had to avoid short hair, pants, or jeans and instead were expected to be young, attractive, and dressed provocatively. Each woman had to wear a short party dress just covering her buttocks, along with stilettos.

Richard Allen's confessions have been a focus for testimony this week in the Delphi Murders Trial. Prosecutors have noted that Allen confessed 61 times.
John Galipeau, the former warden of the Westville Correctional Facility, testified that Allen wrote him a note in 2023 that read, "I am ready to officially for confess killing Abby and Libby. I hope I get the opportunity to tell the families I?m sorry." Galipeau said Allen admitted to getting rid of a box cutter in a dumpster behind his work place.
A clinical psychologist who examined Richard Allen, told a jury that Allen said his intentions were "sexual," and that Allen called himself ?too much of a coward? to kill himself. During some of his confessions, Dr. Monica Wala said Allen gave specific details about the crime, which only the suspect would know.

RJ McLeod and Krystal Mitchell meet when she shows him an apartment. McLeod, a large man, is a bodybuilder and former Marine. As they start dating, Krystal tells her mother about this new man in her life, noting that he is also a devoted father to his son. Krystal confides in McLeod about her issues with a stalker, and McLeod gives her a gun for protection.
The pair travels to California to visit some of RJ?s friends in San Diego. After socializing with his friends, RJ and Krystal head to a local bar for a few drinks. They return to the condo after 1 a.m. About an hour later, the friend?s wife hears a woman sobbing, followed by a sound like ?ah,? and then silence.
The next morning, McLeod greets the friend?s wife as he passes through the kitchen on his way out of the apartment. The friend and his wife leave, but when the friend returns around 1 p.m., he finds the apartment silent. He opens the guest bedroom door and immediately calls 911.
McLeod?s friend finds Krystal Mitchell in bed, partially nude, bloody, and deceased. On the 911 call, he initially tells the dispatcher, ?this is a homicide.? He adds that he tried unsuccessfully to revive her. Investigators later determine there were clear signs of a struggle, with furniture shifted around the room. Krystal Mitchell sustained numerous injuries, including blunt force trauma to her face and torso. She had been strangled, with multiple fractures around her neck.
Investigators learn that McLeod returned to a nearby bar around noon to pay his tab from the night before and retrieve his credit card. He tells a waitress he has a ?flight to catch.? McLeod takes Krystal Mitchell?s car to the San Diego airport, parks it, rents a different car, and drives into Mexico. Police name RJ McLeod as a person of interest in Krystal Mitchell?s death, and officials issue a warrant for his arrest on murder charges.
For six years, investigators believe McLeod is hiding in Central America or Mexico. Reports emerge of sightings in Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico, but McLeod remains elusive. Authorities finally capture him in El Salvador and return him to the United States, where he claims Krystal?s death was a case of rough sex gone wrong.

The King County, Washington, 911 call center receives a call an area known for multi-million dollar homes in the Fall City area at 4:55 am. A 15-year-old boy says he is hiding in a bathroom on the main floor of the house because his 13-year-old brother, Benjamin, just shot is family and then "took himself out."
Another call comes in to the 911 center at 5:02 am. Bradley Dennis lives down the street from the Humiston residence and says the 11-year-old sister of Andrew Humiston arrived at his home ringing the doorbell over and over until they answered the door. The girl says her family has been shot and are all dead. Bradely Dennis says the girl appears injured by a possible gunshot wound and she is bleeding from her neck and hand.
The 11-year-old girl tells 911 dispatch she survived the attack by pretending to be dead when the gunman came into her room. As soon as the gunman left, the girl says she climbed out a "fire window" and ran into the middle of the street. When she looks into a window at the front of their home she saw the gunman who shot her.
When an operator asks who that was, the girl tells 911 that her brother is the one who killed everyone--and she is terrified he will come to the neighbors house to kill her.
