We feel so fortunate to live the life that we do now and show up for our friends and family in ways that we never could?ve dreamed of, and the thought of all that going away is enough to kick us into high gear. Most of us don't need to be adding things to our plate right now. In fact, taking things off your to-do list can actually help you make time for the people and experiences that really matter. When you scroll on social media, it can feel like everyone is doing more than you, but how can you look for ways to create value and fulfillment from doing less? I?ve found that taking a step back has magically expanded time and made me even more productive when I need to be in that mode. I want to challenge you this week to do less and give yourself time to connect with something or someone you love.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Reflecting on spending quality time with family and friends in Wisconsin Detaching your self-worth from how busy you are How you can actually get more done by doing less Evaluating if your routines are actually making you more stressed

During your downtime, do you catch yourself thinking about what you should be doing instead? Chris and I are working on shifting our language around those thoughts when they creep up and soaking up this time that we have in Wisconsin with our friends and family. It can be so easy to become the thief of your own peace by constantly focusing on what you should be doing to make more money and hit bigger goals. But, it?s so important to give yourself a break and enjoy the fruits of your labor. If you don?t, then why are you even hustling in the first place?
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Recognizing when you?re sabotaging your own joy and peace Looking at enjoyment as a sign that you'll be able to collapse time when you tap back into work mode Why making a better life is usually taking away things, not adding more to your to-do list An eye-opening journaling exercise from Four Thousand Weeks that really helped us get clear on our priorities

GUEST BIO
Kelly Kussman is the founder and CEO of Cayla Gray. After 20 years building a career in corporate retail, she had a life altering incident that led her to change course and start her own dream business. Cayla Gray was founded in 2020 and is a luxury line of clean fragrances, offering both core and seasonal scents. Kelly wanted to create healthier fragrance options for women because we deserve better products.
Nothing matters until you make it matter, good or bad. It can be so easy to spiral and focus your energy on things that are frustrating, upsetting, or just generally keeping you down. On the flip side, if you want to prioritize something, you have to be super intentional about that and make sure that you?re giving it the attention that it deserves. I?m trying to become a master of focusing my time and energy where it serves me best, enjoying my downtime, and being present with the people that I love. I?ll always be a work in progress, but the more that I can let things go and hone in on what matters, the more I can live in alignment and reach my goals.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Tips for staying present when it feels like there?s an endless to-do list What Chris and I like to do when we?re feeling like our energy is being depleted The importance of taking your attention away from things that drain you and moving it to something that fills you up Examples of how to make your relationships matter and strengthen your connections

If you're procrastinating and putting off your big goal because you want it to be perfect, that's just another version of an excuse. That might sound harsh, but it?s something I wish I would?ve heard when I was sitting in a lot of resistance. I?ve realized that it?s better to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and then learn on the other side. If you have to do more research and drag out your launch, it means you probably shouldn't be teaching it because you haven?t lived it yet. I promise that it?s better to condense your timeline, make yourself do it, and get your idea out there ASAP.

One of the most common questions that I get from listeners who are trying to build their platform is how to become valuable enough so that people with more influence actually want to return the favor or collaborate. I?m not going to lie, it requires you going the extra mile and finding creative ways to stand out from the crowd, but I promise that the time and energy you put in will pay off. There are three main things that people want when they?re looking for an equal energy exchange, and in today?s episode, I break down what those are, plus a couple of bonus ones. I also share my top tips for how to approach communication with people you want to collab with and some of my personal experiences with getting on someone?s radar.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Why you shouldn?t take it personally if you don?t get the response you want from someone you want to connect with Understanding perceived value What it means to value stack, and how you can implement that into your life My advice for posting Reels and TikToks Examples of experiences, education, and things that you can offer to someone

What do you feel like is totally out of reach for you, and why? Maybe it?s hosting an event, launching a product, or adding on another service to your line up, but regardless of what arena you?re in, my number one piece of advice is to start small and scale from there. Lauren and I share examples of what it looks like to fine tune your idea and make it small enough so that you can get it off the ground. We discuss the importance of tapping into your message, audience, and marketing, and finding a through line that lets you show up as your authentic self in everything that you do. Plus, we recap what?s been going on with Lite Pink and our lives outside of work recently!
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Different avenues to reach your goals without taking huge risks How to get people interested in your idea Why we love collaborating with other people and small, local businesses What a white-label product is and why you should look into it if want to get into the products-based business space The three most important questions to ask yourself before you launch your business

The human experience, especially as an entrepreneur, can feel like a never-ending roller coaster. I recently had a day where I was feeling super low and in my head about the direction of my life, but I was able to snap out of it by talking to our new neighbors and sharing my business experience. Chris and I have realized that we?re happiest when we?re living our purpose, which for us means building something, working hard, and creating meaningful experiences with people that we love. By getting out of my own world and helping uplift someone else, I inevitably feel better and start climbing to the top again.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

We?ve finally had some time to really reflect about our vacation to the Amalfi Coast and want to share some of our biggest takeaways from the trip. Our friend Rob Murgatroyd curated so many beautiful experiences as part of his Work Hard Play Hard Mastermind and we were able to really soak up the Italian culture, art, food, and fashion. We talk about getting clarity on how we?re going to balance the joy and production containers of our lives, and our commitment to making time for new, enriching experiences in our week.
We learned about the Italian saying ?Dolce Far Niente,? which means the sweetness of doing nothing, observing beauty, and enjoying life in the moment. Chris and I want to take time to be more present in our everyday lives and worry less about things that we don?t have control over. This trip proved to us that a vacation doesn't have to be just a moment in time?we can extend this sense of peace and wonder into our everyday lives.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Examples of how Italians value both form and function, and beauty for beauty?s sake Why we?re cutting off work at 1PM on Fridays for the next few months Applying deeper meaning to our beautiful life together and taking away the power that stress has Finding magic in connection and conversation when business isn?t the main topic The benefits of getting out of your environment and day-to-day comfort zone

I wanted to have a conversation with Chris about what?s really going on in this uncertain economy, what he thinks is coming in the future, and how we can prepare ourselves so that we don?t experience a repeat of 2008/2009 when we had to start over from scratch. So many of us are scarred from The Great Recession, but the reality is that the majority of news outlets rely on fear mongering techniques, which just make people freeze in fear. In today's episode, Chris explains how we?ve ended up in this rapid inflation situation, why a recession is usually a self-fulfilling prophecy, and three ways that you can bulletproof yourself for whatever?s coming down the pipeline.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

By night, she is the host of PM School Podcast, an inspiring, "how I'm building this" style podcast inspiring the next generation of women entrepreneurs by bringing them behind the scenes with inspiring founders to hear the stories of how they ideated, started, capitalized and scaled their businesses.
My friend and incredible entrepreneur Kim Perell coined the term ?the execution factor' and it?s a concept that I?ve been coming back to a lot lately. I?ve realized that the reason why so many of us don?t execute on our desires and purpose is because we're not clear on what we actually want. We have too many things on our plate and we haven't learned how to set up our schedule and make time for the actions that actually move the needle. When I?m feeling stuck, I ask myself what is one thing I could do right now that would start to give me a sense of purpose and make me feel like I?m moving forward? In today?s episode, I share my accountability game plan and how I tune back into my goals when I?m feeling out of alignment.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
How I feel when I?m not making progress on my goals My plan to make sure that I hit all my writing deadlines for my upcoming book Discovering different areas of your life where you might need to make a small adjustment so that you stay on track Staying focused when your to-do list feels overwhelming

One of the biggest questions that I get asked is why we chose the direct-to-consumer (DTC) route instead of getting on the shelves of major retailers. In today?s episode, Lauren and I talk about the benefits of being DTC, how we collect data and insights about our customer base, and how we?ve harnessed the power of social media to build the Lite Pink brand before we even launch. Being able to connect to our followers and build relationships in the DMs has been an invaluable tool, especially with all the delays we?re facing. We discuss how to convert social media comments into sales and create a community of people who truly align with your brand. ABOUT BRITTANY
Spearheading the fastest market rollout in the history of the spirits industry, Brittany Yeng, co-founder and managing partner of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, is a chemist, turned lawyer, turned spirits brand owner. Yeng was one to watch as she took her husband?s wacky idea of combining peanut butter and whiskey and turned it into a shelf-stable product and Hollywood favorite that reached national distribution in just one short year. An industry disruptor and a woman making waves in a male dominated industry, she is a highly educated woman juggling parenting while running a leading spirits company, creating a brand that goes beyond just whiskey. Skrewball is a lifestyle that is welcoming to all manner of weirdo, maverick and misfit that brings people together in a world of uncertainty. When Yeng isn?t taking over the spirits industry one bottle at a time, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and getting off the grid while traveling to far remote places with her family.
I?ve lost count of how many times I?ve listened to The Big Leap audiobook, but something new really sticks out to me each time I go back to it. I?ve been thinking a lot about Gay Hendricks? concept of ?Upper Limiting? when you are about to step a giant step into something bigger. That?s when all of the inner saboteurs, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs come back in. I?ve realized that in order to quiet those voices, I need to fully immerse myself in my goal. I share how this idea has shown up in my religious childhood, my fitness competition years, my time in network marketing, and now as I?m getting ready to launch Lite Pink. I talk about ways that I?ve safe-guarded myself to stay on track and build the mental strength that it takes to make those quantum leaps to my dreams.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
How to make sure that we?re always walking on the path of purpose What it looks like to be fully immersed in things that light you up Creating an environment that supports your growth Confronting the areas of your where you?re self-sabotaging

We?re joined by our good friend Lindsey Schwartz of Powerhouse Women for today?s He Said, She Said! We each share one moment or event of expansiveness when we did something that felt either scary or irresponsible or unreasonable, but it became this moment that radically upleveled us. I talk about how back in 2009 when we were starting over again from scratch, Chris and I rented an apartment in a ritzy building in Minneapolis, even though it was tiny and out of our comfortable budget range. We wanted to be around people who were at the level we wanted to be at, and over our 18 months of living there, we made it happen. Lindsey talks about her decision to attend her first mastermind event and how she learned to make decisions based on what her future self would do. Plus, Chris touches on his decision to go all-in on his FinTech company and partner with someone who can help him get to his $100 million goal.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Getting yourself into the environments where people are at the level you want to be at Evaluating who you?re sharing your ideas with How to make the most out of networking events Asking bold questions and being transparent about numbers How to know when you?re dreaming big enough Why it?s good to sometimes feel like the least experienced person in the room

ABOUT GORJANA & IVA
Gorjana Reidel was born and raised in Serbia until she was seven years old and later made her way to the United States by way of Canada. She lived with her grandparents who were a significant influence to her creativity. Gorjana?s childhood home was full of handmade trinkets, which ignited her passion of creation and ultimately led her to visualize gorjana as a brand.
After completing her degree in Marketing at Arizona State University she moved with her (now) husband, Jason, to California. While working in the jewelry department at Neiman Marcus, Gorjana realized she had a love for jewelry design. She soon started working with a local designer to learn all aspects of the jewelry-making business. She set out to design fun, versatile jewelry that all of her friends would want - at an accessible price point.
At 26, she did just that. Gorjana launched her namesake jewelry collection with an accessible price point that had the look and feel of high-end jewelry. During their humble beginnings, Gorjana and Jason would drive thousands of miles selling their collection and fulfill orders from their apartment. The pair ultimately grew out of the apartment and into an artist?s studio in the canyon of Laguna Beach, California.
gorjana has since grown into a multi-million dollar business with high-profile customers that include the likes of Michelle Obama. Gorjana still maintains the welcoming price point and customer experience, which has allowed the expansion of their DTC stores across the country, with more store openings announced in 2022.
ABOUT IVA
Iva Pawling is the CEO and Co-Founder of Richer Poorer. Iva has taken the company through fundraising, an early acquisition, and a founder buy back over the last decade. She leads the company?s strategic planning, brand direction and product category expansion with an irritating level of persistence. Iva has been featured in Forbes, Inc., LA Times and included in the 100 Powerful Women of 2020 in Entrepreneur Magazine. She has spent her entire 20-year career in the fashion industry, starting out in the PR closet at Kate Spade and ending in overseeing Brand Development for her sister?s namesake jewelry brand Gorjana, prior to founding Richer Poorer. Iva holds a B.S. in Communications from Arizona State University.
When you?re at an event and you notice that someone is clearly not having a good time, what?s your reaction? If you?re anything like I used to be, you would take yourself out of the fun and try and shift that person?s energy, solve their problems, and ultimately, bring your own mood down. This might be a major wakeup call for some of you who don?t even realize that you?re doing this and fall into patterns of feeling responsible for other people?s emotions. When you start to take full ownership over your own feelings and reactions, that is one of the most powerful places that you can be in. This is a lifetime practice, but I?m sharing some tips on how I?ve been able to implement this in my life and the major changes that I?ve seen as a result of shifting out of my people-pleasing tendencies.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
Why you can only be responsible for your own emotions and reactions What tends to happen when you try to control the energy in a room How to be friendly while also maintaining your boundaries Reflecting on why you might fall into these patterns Overcoming the potential discomfort that can come with this practice
