On August 2nd, 2006 Robert Wone a young prominent lawyer went to stay with friends after a long day at work.  He arrives at the home of three friends 1509 Swann Street, Washington D.C. at 10:30PM.  At 11:49PM an emergency call is made to 911 requesting an ambulance.  Sometime between 11:08PM and 11:49PM, Robert Wone was stabbed three times in the chest and abdomen with a knife.  His friends say an intruder came into the house using the backdoor.  The police say otherwise.  If you have any information about this case, you can contact the Washington, DC. The night before Halloween attack on Poltergeist movie star Dominique Dunne shocked and surprised both Hollywood and the nation.  Dominique was an up and coming star.  At the young age of twenty two years old she had already found success on both television and the big screen.  Her star was rising but that would be brought to an abrupt end at the hands of a violent monster who was spiraling out of control.  Hands, that unfortunately she knew all too well.  

There are many resources available to victims of both stalking and domestic violence.  If you feel you are in imminent danger or are in fear - call 911 immediately! 

Even when stalking is not related to domestic violence, domestic violence and/or sexual assault service providers are often the right people to contact.  The Victim Connect Resource Center is a referral helpline.  They are available 9AM to 5PM ET by calling 1- 855-4-VICTIM

And perhaps the best resource is The National Domestic Violence Hotline. They can be reached by texting START to 88788 or by calling 1-800-799-SAFE. But remember if you are in danger - call 911 and please talk to your local law enforcement agency.

In August of 1972 a young mother is reported missing to police by her roommate.  Vicki Lynn Harrell was a smart and hard working woman, making her way in the world.  She went out one night to run a few errands but never returned.  Later her body was discovered.  The killer had crudely carved KN on the dead woman?s chest.  Four law enforcement agencies worked this case.  This week True Crime Garage examines this case while taking a look at one or two others that may be connected.  Anyone with information concerning this case should contact the Indiana State Police, Bloomington post at 1-800-423-1286

The Main Line Murders is the largest and longest running murder investigation ever conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police.  On June 25th, 1979 the naked corpse of schoolteacher Susan Reinsert was found wedged into her hatchback car in a motel parking lot.  Her two children Michael and Karen have not been seen since June 22, 1979.  They were just ten and eleven years old, respectively.  The two children were last seen playing in front of their mother?s house.  Why did the family of three leave their home late that Friday night?  Where were they going and why?  This is a murder mystery with too many unanswered questions.

The Main Line Murders is the largest and longest running murder investigation ever conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police.  On June 25th, 1979 the naked corpse of schoolteacher Susan Reinsert was found wedged into her hatchback car in a motel parking lot.  Her two children Michael and Karen have not been seen since June 22, 1979.  They were just ten and eleven years old, respectively.  The two children were last seen playing in front of their mother?s house.  Why did the family of three leave their home late that Friday night?  Where were they going and why?  This is a murder mystery with too many unanswered questions.

Cassie Kay Compton went missing 10 years ago from the town of Stuttgart, Arkansas.  Today she would be 25 years old.  She was just 15 when this mystery began.  According to reports, Cassie was dropped off at her mother?s home on the evening of September 14, 2014.  It is believed that the last person known to have seen Cassie was her mother?s fiancé Brandon Rhodes.  Rhodes would later face several unrelated charges for drugs, weapons, and stolen goods.  Brandon Rhodes remains a strong suspect in this disappearance and may hold the answers as to what happened to this little girl.  At the time of her disappearance Cassie was 5?3, 100 pounds with blue eyes, and dyed blonde hair.  There are some discrepancies as to what she was wearing at the time.  The investigating agency is the Stuttgart Police Department and tips should be sent to them.  SPD can be reached at 1-870-673-1414.

Katara Johnson was a vibrant, young woman with a zest for life.  On August 25, 2004 Katara worked the late shift, leaving work at midnight and heading home.  By morning, her car was gone, and her family could not get in touch with the 21 year old.  Less than 24 hours after leaving work, Katara was found dead.  This homicide case remains open today, 20 years later.  What happened to Katara in the middle of that night?  Any one with information about the murder, Katara?s car, or a gathering that Katara attended days before the murder should call the Taylor Police Department at 512-352-5551, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-253-7867.

One week before the start of the school year a little girl was taken from her Candlestick Park neighborhood.  The entire city of Prattville, Alabama was looking for this little girl.  Eleven year old Shannon Paulk was missing for about two months when rabbit hunters found her remains in a remote hunting area.  This is the crime that forever changed Prattville.  The murderer is still out there, hiding from the men and women of the law that are yet to get justice for this little angel.  Anyone with any information at all is urged to call Prattville CSI Sergeant Tom Allen at 334-595-0256.

Sometime between the waning hours of October 13th and the dawning of October 14th a young mother and her grandmother were viciously beaten and strangled.  The night of Sunday, October 13, 1968 was a gloomy one, with rain falling steadily.  Clyda Jean and her three boys arrived back at their home around 9:30pm that night.  Clyda?s grandmother Nancy Warren lived in the trailer beside theirs.  The next morning both Clyda Jean and Nancy Warren were discovered having been murdered in the night, found on the family property.  The three boys were left unharmed.  This case remains unsolved.  The Manson Family is considered a possible connection and may have been responsible for the deaths.

In the early 1980s a deadly man was stalking the women of the Twin Cities.  He used different weapons and methods to kill his victims.  Often after a kill, the act was followed by a phone call claiming responsibility for the murder.  Why were these calls seemingly part of the killer?s M.O.?   What purpose did they serve?  Was it an act of remorse or just to taunt the protectors of these cities?  A man known as the ?Weepy Voiced Killer? successfully killed women and left them on the side streets and back alleys of Minneapolis and Saint Paul and he got away with it for two years.

In the early 1980s a deadly man was stalking the women of the Twin Cities.  He used different weapons and methods to kill his victims.  Often after a kill, the act was followed by a phone call claiming responsibility for the murder.  Why were these calls seemingly part of the killer?s M.O.?   What purpose did they serve?  Was it an act of remorse or just to taunt the protectors of these cities?  A man known as the ?Weepy Voiced Killer? successfully killed women and left them on the side streets and back alleys of Minneapolis and Saint Paul and he got away with it for two years.

Brian Shaffer Interview ////// 770

How did Brian Shaffer a 27 year-old man at the time just simply disappear?  It's a question Columbus Police detectives and thousands from central Ohio have been asking for more than 18 years.  Brian Shaffer, was a medical student at The Ohio State University.  As legend has it; he walked into a campus bar and was never seen walking out.  Brian vanished after going out with friends on the evening of March 31st, 2006 to celebrate the beginning of spring break.  According to friends during the early morning hours of April 1st, Brian was separated from them, and they assumed he had gone home. Shaffer has not been seen or heard from since.  Columbus police have several theories about what happened; some suspicion has been directed at a friend.  While foul play is suspected, it has also been speculated that Brian might be living somewhere under a new identity.  Today we bring to you an interview with Columbus Police Sergent John Hurst who was the lead investigator in the Shaffer case.  Conducting the interview is the Captain and investigative journalist Maggie Freleng.

A Murder so Cold  //////  767

On Friday, January 21st 1994 Evelyn Fleck?s nude body was found in her backyard by a neighbor who saw the 37 year old?s foot protruding from beneath an old refrigerator.  The murder investigation that followed was conducted by the Kentucky State Police Ashland Post.  Now over 30 years later, the case remains unsolved.  Police have suspects.  This homicide is solvable.  Detectives are seeking and pursuing new information and leads.  Any of the investigating officers can be contacted by calling the Ashland Post at (606) 928-6421

17 year old Belinda VanLith has been missing for fifty years now.  At the time of her disappearance she was described as five foot five inches tall, about one hundred ten pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.  Belinda was house sitting for a neighbor at the time.  She failed to attend her sister?s going away party on June 15th, 1974.  Her family contacted the Sheriff?s office and reported her missing the following day.  Accounts from that time have narrowed her disappearance to prior to the party.  Foul play is suspected.  Anyone with information about Belinda VanLith is asked to call the Wright County Sheriff?s Office at 763-682-7879 or 763-682-7637.

In July of 2021- 40 year old Katie Janness was walking her dog in a city park in Atlanta, Georgia when the two were attacked.  Piedmont Park was just a short walk from Katie?s home.  The two had walked together in the park many times.  But on this night both were attacked and stabbed by an unknown assailant.  Just before 1AM Katie?s partner Emma discovered Katie in the park and called 911.  Please help get justice for Katie Janness.  If you have any information please contact the Atlanta Police Department by calling 1(404) 614-6544
