How to Heal From Church Hurt (Podcast 510)

I don?t think I know anyone who has been a believer for any length of time who hasn?t experienced a wound in their church life and experience. Some of these wounds are what I would call merely flesh wounds, but some are incredibly deep and can cause lasting damage.

I?ve heard from countless moms who have experienced this, including friends, and my own family.

It's easy to become bitter and cynical when it seems like we are the only army that wounds its own soldiers. However, I don?t think that is the whole story because that is not the God we serve and I can?t imagine that He would want us to stop at the point of our pain. But how do we heal? How do we trust again?

How Should Believers Handle Suffering? (Podcast 491)

I wanted to take some time to talk about suffering because I know many of us are currently experiencing trials and tribulations that could easily undermine our faith and cause us to doubt the sovereignty and goodness of God.

Suffering is hard. It can be exhausting and discouraging.

As believers must have a theology of suffering. In other words, we must know how to respond to suffering with faith. To know this, we have to be taught from the scriptures. Letting our faith impact our suffering changes everything and brings hope in the midst of what could otherwise destroy us.

Drizzle with melted butter, sprinkle with paprika, and refrigerate until ready to bake. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes if already warm and 40-60 minutes if refrigerated. Curried Fruit 1 15 oz can of peaches, drained 1 15 oz can of pears, drained 1 15 oz can pineapple, drained Place fruit in a 9x13 glass baking dish Melt 1/3-1/2 c melted butter and add 1-2 t curry and 1/3-1/2 c brown sugar Drizzle over fruit and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes Pecan Fudge Pie Use a basic recipe for Pecan Pie, but before you pour the filling into the pie shell, layer the bottom of the pie crust with 1 c chocolate chips, then pour the filling over top and bake.
