Corey Micciolo did not meet his father until he was 5-years-old. Soon thereafter Corey landed in the middle of a custody battle. From the first time he was left alone with his father, Corey came home with bruises, busted lips, and more. His mother complained but nobody listened. Only now are people paying attention because of an awful video showing 6-year-old Corey Micciolo being forced to run on a treadmill and falling off, over and over. Each time he falls off the treadmill, his father puts him back on and turns the speed up, allegedly. Christiopher Gregor is on trial facing murder charges for allegedly killing his own son in what the media calls the Treadmill Abuse Trial. On this episode of Body Bags, Joseph Scott Morgan will explain what really happened to Corey Micciolo and why 6-year-olds don't drop over dead, and Dave Mack will fill in the rest of the story of how Corey was given to a father that never bonded with him while his mother begged for anyone to listen.

Carlee Russell calls 911, telling the operator that she sees a toddler walking down the side of an Alabama freeway.
When police arrive, there's no toddler and Russell is gone. Her car, however, is still parked along the highway. The door is open and the car is running. Forty-nine hours later, Russell returns home, telling investigators in a brief interview that she was abducted by a man with orange hair and a woman.
As the investigation continued, police find some ?really strange? internet searches in the hours before she vanished, such as the cutoff age for an AMBER Alert.
Now Russell admits via a statement from her lawyer that there was no toddler or abduction.
In a Jefferson County, Ala., circuit court Russell ordered to pay nearly $18,000 in restitution and sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation, community service and evidence of continued mental health counseling. Judge David Carpenter suspended Russell's two six-month sentences, saying jail time would be a "waste of government resources."

Suzanne Morphew's death has been ruled a homicide by undetermined means. The toxicology report shows several drugs found in her system at the time of her death: Butorphanol, a synthetic opioid pain-killer, Azaperone, a sedative commonly used as a tranquilizer for pigs and elephants, and medetomidine, a sedative that can decrease an animal's heart rate, commonly used by veterinarians.
According to a 2021 affidavit, Barry Morphew admitted to police that he frequently used BAM and other tranquilizers to sedate deer to remove antlers for his hunting business. However, BAM is the commonly used abbreviation for Butophanol, Azaperaone, and Medetomidine. Azaperone is used as a sedative for Elephants, Rhinoceros, and Giraffes, while Medetomidine facilitates immobilization of large carnivores and great apes.
Police say in the recovery of Susanne Morphew's body, her favorite tee-shirt was pulled from the location. And in the past few days, it's reported that husband Barry Morphew quietly slipped into an invite-only memorial for his murdered wife.

As volunteer searchers try to locate all of teen girl Sade Robinson?s remains, a gruesome discovery... this time, at a remote, tree-lined stretch of beach along Lake Michigan.
Just after 7:30 a.m., someone walking along a South Milwaukee water line discovered an arm and torso. The remains washed ashore about a quarter mile away from a nearby apartment complex. Residents watched as officers carried a body bag down the cliff to recover an arm and torso. Sade's father has joined in the search for his daughter's remains.
We have also learned that inside the unfinished basement that police have called a ?sex dungeon,? it?s in disarray. A large hole has been dug in the concrete floor. A drain in the floor is stuffed with towels, the drain cover is marked with evidence numbers. A door without a handle leads to a dark closet with several tables, a chair, and exercise equipment.
The mattress of a queen bedframe is flipped on its side, and bedding is tossed over a table in the corner of the room.
A circle saw, hack saw, and a power drill were also recovered from Anderson?s backyard.

John-Paul and Mica Miller marry in 2017, and at just 23, Mica becomes stepmom to John-Paul Miller's 5 children.
At first, outside the home everybody seems happy, but inside the home, not so much. Mica Miller has decided she has had enough of Pastor John-Paul Miller and files for divorce.
Four months after filing for divorce, Mica Miller pulls back the divorce papers, only to file again weeks later. After filing for divorce the second time, Mica Miller says she feels like she is being stalked. Her tires are slashed twice.
Police discover a tire deflator has been used on the tires. Taking her car in for service, a mechanic finds a tracking device in Mica Miller's car. Mica Miller tells police she is afraid for her life. She knows who the suspect is, but the police tell her there isn't much they can do. A report is filed, but no charges.
Weeks later, Pastor John-Paul Miller announces during church service that he got a call telling him his wife is dead. Mica commits suicide, according to police. Separate memorial events spring up for Mica Miller, one for her husband at Solid Rock and one for her family and friends held beachside. Days after the service, Pastor John-Paul Miller is relieved of his duties at the church.

A woman goes to meet family at the visitor center in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and takes a photo of the area.
When she takes a closer look later, she realizes that the boy in the photo bears a striking resemblance to Sebastian Rogers and contacts authorities. The sheriff?s office confirms they have reached out to North Carolina authorities about the picture, but so far nothing credible has resulted from their inquiries.
Investigators say the boy is not Sebastian.
Seth Rogers also agrees to take a polygraph exam if Nancy Grace sets it up for him. An appointment is made with an established polygrapher. Seth Rogers is asked many questions such as, did you do anything that could have caused that boy's disappearance and were you involved in any way in the disappearance of that boy? Chris Gregor carried his son, Corey, into the hospital the day he died. According to a Nurse Practitioner at Southern Ocean, Corey's arms and legs dangling with little visible movement. His head rested on his father's shoulder.
The nurse practitioner said he could tell something was wrong, but there was no urgency coming from the parent. Corey died later that day.
We have also learned that text messages between Breanna Micciolo and Christopher Gregor about their son Corey Micciolo have been made public on the Facebook group Justice for Corey. Breanne Micciolo posts a text exchange that took place two weeks before Corey died.
Micciolo writes 'Corey came upstairs upset and almost crying because he was trying to ask you about playing football in high school and you smacked the ball out of his hand and walked out,' Gregor replies, "I smacked the ball out of his hands and he didn't say a word to me."
Gregor then texts that if hitting the ball out of the six-year-old's hand 'makes him cry, that maybe he needs to be a little tougher because that's soft tissue.' After Gregor makes another comment about Corey being ?over-emotional."
Breanne Micciolo responds, "He's not over-emotional, you hurt his feelings, he got upset, he's six years old."

In 1960, Lady Bird Lake was built by the city of Austin. The river-like reservoir was created as a cooling pond for Austin's then-new city power plant.
The 416-acre lake is now primarily used for recreation, but many in the area are now concerned is it the hunting ground for a killer. There have been multiple deaths reported since 2022. Two more reported in past days.
Even though police have given no indication there are signs of foul play, social media has lit up with speculation. According to the San Antonio Current, rumors of a serial killer hunting young men and dumping their bodies in Lady Bird Lake ran rampant last April. That's when Police recovered the bodies of Jason John, Clifton Axtell, Jonathon Honey, and Christopher Hays-Clark ? all between the ages of 20 and 40 and all recovered from Lady Bird Lake.
Reegan Aparicio says she has no doubts that her longtime boyfriend Chris Hays-Clark was placed in Lady Bird Lake. The dental nurse says despite police assurances that there was no foul play in Hays-Clark's death, she believes he was already dead when he went into the water.
Despite family concerns, Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon says, "Nothing has come to light that would indicate that there is a serial killer in Austin."

Christopher Gregor, now on trial, is charged in the death of his 6-year-old son Corey Micciolo.
Gregor took his son to the hospital saying he put his son down for a nap because he was sleepy and nauseous. When Corey woke up he was stumbling, slurring his words, and having trouble breathing. Corey died at the hospital.
Surveillance video inside the gym facility at the complex where Gregor lived shows Corey running on a treadmill while Gregor turns up the speed and incline of the machine until the 6-year-old can?t keep up and falls off. Gregor lifts the boy off the ground by his shirt, holding Corey over the running treadmill.
Corey?s feet slide out from under him several times as he tries to get his footing, and Gregor appears to bite Corey on the back of the head. Corey eventually starts running again and falls from the treadmill five more times before Gregor shuts it off and they leave together.
Corey?s mother, Breanna Micciolo testified that she feared for Corey?s life. Documentation shows she made more than 100 calls and emails to the Department of Child Protection reporting abuse. Pediatrician Dr. Nancy Deacon who treated Corey days before his death, testified to what she observed.
Deacon listed a blue-grey bruise on his left cheek, a large yellow-green bruise on his left shoulder, another large yellow-green bruise on his left inner arm, and a blue bruise present on his elbow. Beyond over 12 bruises that covered Corey Micciolo's body, the doctor noted two areas on the right side of his chest, she called it two areas of hyper-pigmented skin, meaning the wound was healing but pigment had not yet returned.

The second person charged in the deaths of Tylee Ryan, JJ Vallow, and Tammy Daybell is now in court. Chad Daybell, husband of Cult Mom Lori Vallow, is facing the same charges as his wife and more.
Shortly after her husband Charles Vallow?s shooting death, Lori Vallow moves with her two children to Rexburg, Idaho. It?s not far from where Chad Daybell, Vallow?s lover and ?husband from a past life? resides with his wife Tammy Daybell. Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow settle in, making a trip to Yellowstone National Park with their mom and uncle Alex Cox. A photo from that trip is the last proof of Tylee?s life, and weeks later, J.J. Vallow stops going to school.
Meanwhile, Vallow and Daybell spend more time together. The couple is seen loading a storage unit with Vallow?s children?s belongings. A month passes, and suddenly Daybell?s wife Tammy is dead. Two weeks later, Lori Vallow is now Lori Vallow-Daybell after a wedding ceremony on a Kauai beach.
Chad Daybell?s wife Tammy Daybell dies in her sleep at the age of 49. Friends were shocked by her death, saying that Tammy was incredibly fit. The mom of five was training for a marathon and regularly attended high-intensity exercise classes with friends.
However, Chad Daybell painted a very different story of his wife?s health. He said Tammy Daybell was sickly, always coughing, and struggling with low blood pressure that led to fainting spells. Daybell said on the night of her death, Tammy Daybell had a coughing fit that led her to vomit. He helped her to bed and was startled awake when Tammy rolled onto the floor.
Daybell says when he checked on her, he realized Tammy was dead. Fremont County Coroner, Brenda Dye, took Daybell?s account of his wife?s health into consideration when she ruled Tammy Daybell?s cause of death to be pulmonary edema due to a cardiac event without performing an autopsy.
By June of 2020, detectives are narrowing down what happened to J.J. Vallow and Tylee Ryan since their disappearance nearly six months earlier. Lori Vallow-Daybell is behind bars on two felony charges of Desertion & Nonsupport of Dependent Children after failing to produce Tylee and J.J. in court on January 30.
On April 9, police announce their suspicion that Vallow and Vallow-Daybell conspired to kill Tammy Daybell. Rexburg Police return to Chad Daybell?s home for another search. While Daybell is detained, investigators uncover human remains in a pet cemetery in Daybell?s backyard. The remains are later confirmed to be J.J. Vallow and Tylee Ryan.

Residents watched as officers carried a body bag down the cliff to recover the body parts. Police have continued their search using a sonar detection boat to scour the lake.
During their investigations, police discovered Maxwell Anderson had a ?sex dungeon? in the basement of his West Milwaukee home, according to a law enforcement source. Cops found a ?sex sling?, restraints, and handcuffs. A close friend of Anderson?s said that on a visit to Anderson?s home last year, he noticed a large hole in the ground about 5 feet long by 6 feet deep. Anderson said he was working on an underground basement, despite having a large basement in the home already.
Neighbors say the basement in the home had small windows that were always covered, so you could not see inside.
Police also found gas cans in the garage, and blood in several areas, including on bedding and the wall of a stairwell leading to the basement. After initial DNA tests, an amended probable cause affidavit reveals the blood is not Sade Robinson's.

A 12-year-old boy climbs out of a window in a home, running to neighbors begging for food and water.
The boy is the son of Ruby Franke, a popular blogger, known for the YouTube channel "8 Passengers." The home belonged to Franke's business partner Jodi Hildebrandt.
Neighbors called police. Officers said the boy looked emaciated and malnourished. Cops also noted that the boy had ?deep lacerations from being tied up with rope? and duct tape around his wrists and ankles.. After searching Hildebrandt?s home, police found Franke?s 10-year-old daughter in a similar condition. Both children were taken to a hospital.
Franke's parenting channel "8 Passengers," which at one time boasted over 2 million followers, doled out parenting advice, and in her video, she admits to withholding food as a form of punishment.

Months after Rachel Morin's body is found along a trail the Ma & Pa Trail, her killer is still still on the run. DNA found at the crime scene matched to a home invasion in Los Angeles, but investigators have not been able to match the profile. A video of the man believed to be the suspect, was made public. That video came from the home invasion scene in LA.
Morin?s family is turning to all options in trying to bring this killer to justice. The family has created a flyer using still images from the doorbell camera footage of the suspect. 10,000 flyers have been sent out to homes and schools near the LA crime scene. Morin family attorney, Randolph Rice, says the reason is that the suspect could have been in high school as early as two years ago. They are hoping a teacher or classmate will recognize the suspect.

Tad Cullum, the boyfriend of grandmother Tiffany Adams, had asked the owner of the property he rented for cattle grazing, if he could do some work in the pasture, with his skid steer. Picture a heavy-duty front-end loader, with lift arms that can attach to various tools, especially ones for digging.
Cullum reportedly said he wanted to cut down a tree, remove a stump, and bury some concrete. The intent was that if the hole was discovered, it was explainable. If the land owner was asked about the disturbed dirt and track marks, he could honestly answer that some dirt work had been done and concrete had been buried.
The landowner just didn?t know there were bodies underneath. News reports also say there was hay placed near and on the digging site to draw Cullum?s cattle to the spot, to trample the earth, further disguising the dig.
The OSBI, the FBI, and the Texas County Sheriff?s Department followed cell phone pings to find a horrific scene, a 10-foot-deep hole, 8 1/2 miles from the mom's abandoned car, in a pasture on leased farmland and near a bridge. Whether the two moms were buried alive.... not yet revealed.
Associate District Judge Clark Jett entered "not guilty" pleas on the behavior of Adams, Cullum, Cora, and Cole Twombly. Judge Jett also assigned pro bono attorneys for each of the four defendants and denied bail. According to the police affidavit the 4 suspects ? had ?resources sufficient to organize and execute a complex murder and therefore, they also have the resources to flee if given the opportunity.?
The police documents also say Adams and Cullum own numerous firearms, and Cullum had a rifle, ammunition, body armor, and a ?go-bag? prepared at his home.

Brazilian Au Pair, Juliana Peres Magalhaes and her charge leave the Banfields' Fairfax County, Virginia home but turn around when Peres Magalhaes realizes she forgot their bagged lunches.
Arriving at the house, the au pair sees a car she doesn't recognize and a man she doesn't know entering the house. Confused, she calls her employer, Brendan Banfield, who tells her to stay in the car, that he will be right there. Banfield is at the house in minutes, and they enter the house together. The au pair takes her 4-year-old charge to the basement. Brendan Banfield goes upstairs to find his wife.
Banfield finds his wife, Christine, nude, and a man he doesn't know, holding a knife to her throat. Banfield tells the man to put the knife down, but he starts stabbing the 37-year-old mother. Brendan Banfield carries a gun as an IRS Special Agent, and he draws his service revolver shooting the man in the head. The intruder is wounded and down on the ground. Banfield calls for Peres Magalhaes telling her to get his personal gun, a Glock, out of the bathroom safe. At Banfield's direction, shoots Joseph Ryan in the heart as he is lying on the ground.
Police say it appeared that Christine Banfield had been posted on an adult fetish website., but investigators say they believe it was all a ruse. Someone else created the profile on the Adult Fetish website, pretending to be Christine Banfield.
In fact, investigators believe Ryan's murder was part of an elaborate plan to kill Christine Banfield so her husband, Brendan, and their Brazilian live-in Au Pair, could be together. Investigators found pictures of Banfield and the au pair together in the Banfield bedroom, and Peres Magalhaes' clothes were found hanging in Banfield's closet, not her own.

A police affidavit says Tifany Adams allegedly gave statements indicating she was responsible for the deaths of Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley.
Investigators now say they believe Butler and Jillian Kelley were lured to the location, arriving around 9:40 a.m. Besides the pools of blood, officers found Butler?s glasses on the ground near a broken hammer. Police say they believe the women were forced into another vehicle.
Much information has been released in the probable cause affidavit, but not the women's cause of death. The bodies were found in a cattle pasture, leased by Tad Bert Cullum, the boyfriend of grandmother Tifany Adams.
The location was narrowed down by cellphone data from three burner phones purchased by Adams. The phones first pinged at the location of Butler's abandoned car, the data then led police to the pasture property. Obvious signs of digging were discovered. A hole had been dug and filled back in. Inside the hole were the bodies of the missing women.
The motive, according to investigators, is custody of Butler?s two children: a custody battle has gone on for more than five years. Father Wrangler Rickman, Tifany Adam?s son, had custody of the children, but Rickman was confirmed to be in a rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma City.
Veronica Butler?s custody arrangement allowed her supervised visitation with her children every Saturday. And reportedly, according to Butler?s attorney, she was likely to be granted unsupervised visitation during an upcoming hearing.
The affidavit states that ?Adams vehemently opposed this and went to great lengths to plan and purchase items used in Butler and Kelley?s murders,? It continues... ?Adams, Cullum, Cole and Cora were willing to kidnap and murder two victims to limit visitation for Butler.?
Court documents allege that Adams and the other suspects tried to killer Butler once before in February. Adams, her boyfriend, and the other couple drove to Butler?s home near Hugoton, Kansas, intending to kill her. A witness told investigators that the planned was to throw an anvil through Butler?s windshield while she was driving. They reasoned that it would look like an accident, but Butler did not leave her home.
As state investigators pulled information from Adams? phone, it showed web searches for ?taser pain level, gun shops, prepaid cellular phones, and how to get someone out of their house." That?s also according to the probable cause documents.
Adams reportedly purchased five stun guns before the women?s disappearances, according to the documents. She bought three prepaid, unregistered burner phones from a Walmart near her. All the prepaid burners stopped transmitting the mornings the women went missing.

As James and Jennifer Crumbley awaited sentencing for their conviction for involuntary manslaughter, both sought to avoid jail.
Their son Ethan Crumbley is serving life in prison for the school rampage where four were killed and seven others were injured. The gun used was given to the teen as a birthday present by his parents. James, convicted of involuntary manslaughter, asked the judge for "time served" and Jennifer asked the judge to let her serve her time on house arrest in a guest house at her attorney's home.
Oakland County Prosecutor Marc Keast has recommended 10-to-15-year jail sentences for both Jennifer and her husband, James. While James was in jail, damning phone conversations surfaced in which Crumbley had allegedly threatened Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald.
In a call from October 9, 2023, five months before the trial, Crumbley says, ?Yeah, Karen McDonald, you?re going down. ? Go ahead, record this call. Send it to Karen McDonald. Tell her how James Crumbley is going to f------ take her down."
In a call on December 23, 2023, Crumbley says, ?There will be retribution, believe me."
The threats were bad enough that Crumbley's jail communication privileges were revoked during his trial. Neither received the sentence they asked for.

Bryan Kohberger's attorney has provided his official alibi for the early morning hours of November 13, 2022. Kohberger claims he was driving his car.
In a newly-filed court document, Kohberger claims after he moved to the Pullman area he liked to go out and explore, and according to him, that is what he was doing when the four students were murdered, But Kohberger claims his cell phone data will back him up and prove that he was south of Pullman and west of Moscow at the time of the murders
Kohberger's official alibi claims, "Mr. Kohberger was out driving in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022; as he often did to hike and run and/or see the moon and stars, He drove throughout the area south of Pullman, Washington, west of Moscow, Idaho including Wawawai Park."
To further solidify his alibi, Kohberger said he plans to offer testimony from a CSLI expert to show that he was south of Pullman and west of Moscow at the time of the murders and that he did not travel east on the Moscow-Pullman Highway on the early morning of November 13, 2022.

Actor Alec Baldwin has been indicted again, charged with involuntary manslaughter by New Mexico prosecutors in the death cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The shooting on set during the production of the film, "Rust." Baldwin was allegedly four feet from the crew on set in a mock church pew when he used his right hand to reach across his body to grab the gun holstered on his left side. He was reportedly aiming the gun toward cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when he drew back the hammer and released it. The bullet first went through director Joel Souza?s shoulder before striking Hutchins in the chest, killing her.
Ever since the shooting death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, Alec Baldwin has claimed he didn't pull the trigger. Even after an FBI report contradicting Baldwin's account of the shooting saying the trigger had to have been pulled for the gun to fire, Baldwin still says he didn't pull the trigger. The FBI report says their testing proves the gun could not be made to fire without the pull of the trigger. Accidental discharge testing determined that the firearm used in the shooting -- a .45 Colt single-action revolver -- could not have fired without the trigger being pulled. The FBI Report also says, With the hammer in the quarter- and half-cock and fully cocked positions, the gun "could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger. Alec Baldwin says he didn't pull the trigger
The armorer for the film Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was also charged and she has been convicted and sentenced on manslaughter charges. In recorded Jailhouse phone calls Gutierrez-Reed blasts the jurors calling them "idiots" and "A-Holes". Prosecutors say the jailhouse recordings show how she really is outside of court. Gutierrez-Reed wants Alex Baldwin to go to jail too and says she won't testify at his upcoming trial if subpoenaed.

Fifteen days after Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley are reported missing, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announce the recovery of two bodies.
The identity of the remains has not been confirmed as yet, but we do know the remains have been sent to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office for identification, as well as the cause and manner of death.
Initially, police said there was evidence of suspicious circumstances in Veronica Butler?s car. That evidence was a small amount of blood inside the vehicle. Police have now released new information. The vehicle was found on a dirt path, 1,000 feet off of Oklahoma State Highway 95 and near the car, police find multiple puddles of blood, leading investigators to conclude the women were shot, before they were abducted.
Reports began to surface that a caravan of law enforcement vehicles including swat teams was traveling in the panhandle of Oklahoma. Local reporters said there were some 20 vehicles including swat and other law enforcement vehicles in Cimarron County which split into two groups. One group went to the home of Tiffany Adams, the ex-mother-in-law of Veronica Butler, while the other group of law enforcement traveled to a different location in Cimarron County.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has now announced four people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley. Tiffany Adams, the ex-mother-in-law of Veronica Butler, and Adams' boyfriend, Tad Cullum, are in custody.
Cole Twombly and Cora Twombly were also arrested, and all four were taken to the Texas County Jail. Each person faces two counts of suspicion of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
